Perks of knowing a ski patrol

well i just wanted to say that you guys should really become friends with a ski patrol not just cause of the following reasons but because they make skiing safer and for us to do it, also they are the ones to save your ass when you try a dub for the first time and blow out your ACL.... so i just want to say appreciate your ski patrols.

and some of the perks of being a ski patrol or being friends or related to one are the following(my dad is a patrol soo yeah :D)

at my mountain every ski patrol gets 2 passes every time they work (volunteer patrolling is what my dad does)one for them and one for whoever and the passes work for the whole season sooo i don't have to buy myself a seasons pass so there goes $500 i don't have to spend!

food.. you know how to buy lunch at a ski resort costs you an arm and a leg

well patrollers get free food (20 $ a day) so enough for a sandwich fries and a drink.

patrol deals, depending on where you patrol you get special deals... the following deals are such as a huge discount on k2 skis like i'm talking 35% + for new skis of the current year, also with surface skis. you get thule boxes half off. deals on arcteryx stuff. something crazy like 40% off smith anything and so much more hell you even get discounts at car rental places.

discount at hills shop (50% + off)

also you get 30% off of a select 4 or 5 hotels for accommodation and food.

so my fellow ns'ers i invite you to become a ski patrol and help make the mountain safe for everyone else plus you get to ski for free and you can get paid and your job is skiing... also haven't you ever wanted to throw a bomb off of a cornice? i know you have!

also next time you see a patroller say thanks because they work so that you can do what you love, skiing.

and dont forget you get to work with these adorable creatures.

This jerk I know is apart of the ski patrol at my mountain, and we have a no inverts policy which is kinda a bummer considering they will jack your pass if they catch you, but I just say I was told I was able to by my "Friend", and it hads worked twice already.
 
My mom is a ski patroller. I've had a free season pass for 7 years.Got $160 Smith optics for $80 and a gopro3+ for $150. Also makes it easier to become a ski patroller in the future.

My dads the director of ski patrol at my home mountain. This shit is dope.^ My buddies all blaze and he finds them all the time. He likes to fuck with them by being all stern but ends up having a chill convo with them before going on his way.

No I'm pretty sure I'm not cause it's my dad and neither is my dad because at my resort you are aloud to do inverts at your own risk but they advise certification

My mom tows me up on a snowmobile after hours for a few runs. Favorite part lol
 
Y'know, actually *being* a ski patroller is cooler and more fun than you'd think. Pick your mountain carefully, but it's actually one of the best things I ever did. Oh, and also there never has been and never will be a time when first tracks on a huge pow day suck.
 
trollers kick ass

but them perks are something anyone who has been in the industry for a while

can get and hardly exclusive to patrol.

the whole getting paid to ski sounds great

but being able to ski when, where, with and as long or short as you want in the manner you want is priceless.

and huck you now damn well i score more fresh pow than any troller and i'd still b a troller if that wasn't the case
