Perisher or Thredbo season pass?

Hi guys how's it going?

I'll be coming from Finland to Jindabyne for this summer/winter. Will be living out of a campervan and skiing as much as possible. The question is: which resort's pass to get? Perisher seems to have better parks, Thredbo better overall terrain. If there would be many soft days I would choose Thredbo I guess but Australia does not seem to be getting too much fresh generally so then Perisher's superior parks would keep me busy.

Also, if anybody happens to be around this season, hit me up. Would be cool to find some ski buddies :)

Cheers,

Gabriel

you've pretty much got it sorted.

thredbo on a pow day is much better but thats literally a couple of days of the year.

perisher has a much better park and is much easier to access from Jindabyne.

Perisher is also now on the Epic pass, so if you have any plans for the next norther hemisphere winter that might affect your decision as well.

Ive only ever bought a perisher pass and then if im available to ski on those random good days at thredbo i will just buy a pass.

Thanks for the reply mate! Exactly my thoughts to be honest. Probably going to go with it. At the same time, people have been saying that car camping is way easier in around Thredbo cause it's actually a village on its own...

yeah thats probably true, you will have to buy a national parks pass which is about 180 i think.

I think theres a camp ground just before the park gates on the way to thredbo but im not sure.

Alternatively there is a massive day and overnight car park at the ski tube, which is the train that runs under the mountain to perisher.it takes about 10 mins. its like $50 return a day or $49 or something on your season pass. so good value. however you would be stuck in a carpark thats not really close to anything.

Check it out on google maps.

Unless you're an an absolute god at park (hitting perisher's front valley) Thredbo is so much more fun. Just cruising around Thredbo is so much fun

The intermediate park (Leichhardt) at Perisher always has massive lift lines. Thredbo's advanced park (Antons) rarely has people hitting so u can hot lap 30-50 foot jumps all day.

Plus Thredbo has an actual village unlike Perisher

I agree thredbo is more fun to cruise around

never waited longer than a couple of mins at leichardt.

antons rarely has people hitting it because 1) its too windy to hit it most of the time because of its exposure. 2) Its got 3 jumps and thats it.

Thredbo's village is twice as expensive as jindabyne for everything.

Yeh fair Thredbo's village is expensive but it's better than nothing.

Haven't really had any problems with 1), but 2) is def wrong. They've had a 5 jump line for the past few years. Don't take this the wrong way but when was the last time u went to Thredbo? They've really improved their park building game the past few years.
