what would be a better location for a school ski trip in 08. The choices are Perisher or somewhere in NZ. Most of my schoolmates are inexperienced skiiers and i'm thinking a lot will go boarding...so i'm gonna have fun either way, spraying them with snow while skiding up behind them.

any ideas???

come to nz.

go to wanaka and you have teh choice of snow park, cardrona and treble cone.

cardronas real good for learning and has an alrite park

since there inexperienced id go to perisher, no point flying all the way to nz when they can't even ski that well.

perisher park is good and the weather is too.

New Zeland for sure.

perisher is ok but man NZ got wanaka and queenstown.

plus it will be chill cause you will be overseas.

lots of direct flights into queenstown from australia, assuming thats where you are.. prob more for school aged people to go and do in queenstown after skiing too

Yeh NZ is good but I reckon i wud still recomend perisher for the inexperienced only because of the large amount of terrain there. You can basically go most places in the resort on cruisy blue and green runs. Perisher is also alot bigger than the NZ resorts so there is more places to ski.

With that said however With an exception of this season which was hella good, NZ usually gets better snow.

i guess it depends also are u staying in jindi or in perisher. if people only want to ski half days or the weather is bad there is not much to do in the village where if u go to queenstown you can go clubbing or bungge jumping, jet boating. heaps of stuff

If we go to perisher we're staying on snow at the Mattahorn but in NZ there's is little or no on snow accommodation, right?

My pet peeve with NZ is that most of the runs over their are intermidiate or advanced, but the skiiers and snowboarders coming will be on their butts most of the time so they need their green runs...

...with perisher they can easily ski down front valley to the quad and then ski along the path to blue cow, this will give them some enjoyment and help get their confidence up, plus all the instructors their have been really great the times me and my family have gone down.

yea pretty much. but im assuming you are of drinking age?

if you want to stick with aus and stay on snow

i would recommend thredbo, real nice village with a bunch of stuff to do if nit skiing or its to cold for the beginers, plus really good beginer terrain in merrits and friday flat, the only problem i think is the parks not great but good hiking terrain of karels.

better bars and night life then on snow at perisher.

hope this helps im sure it will be a sick time no matter where u go i love taking new skiers places they always get stoked.

on that note im taking my girlfriend who doesnt ski to japan this year do ppl know how the village is if she doesnt want to go out skiing everyday?

Unfortunately not drinking age :( and we have to be on best behavior cause our teachers come

But I believe that the towns in Japaneses resorts are usually really nice and have a couple-a things to do, if not just buy her a book or something beforehand so she can go read in the room

depends on the season man, this year Australia had way better snow depth than NZ throughout the season, and the cost of both is about the same..

not trying to be a douche.. but all the australians I talked to this season were stoked on the conditions in nz, only thing they didn't like was the access roads.

remarks has alot of easy terrain for beginners/intermediate but also has a good park and good hiking terrain. it can get a bit cold up there sometimes though
