Perfect Urban Skis

I have been having trouble keeping a ski in decent shape for urban. What I've typically done is just use last years ski for this years urban. But I want to invest in a ski that will be perfect for urban, is there something out there? Or if not what could they do to make one? I really like the edge armor idea that salomons doing with the polyurethane.

Edge armor is shit. Go with afterbangs they are skis that can get the shit beaten out of them and still hold together. But urban skis dont need to be good, basically anything you find laying around that slides relatively nicely.

Because out of every ski that I've had, well just about. The main issue is that the edges always rip out right at the boot, for obvious reasons. This makes it nearly impossible for that to happen because the pressure is distributed on the other edge and vice-versa.

lol at the salomon edge protection, they are the worst skis for durability and after one sesh theyd be gone. and afterbangs arent that great either...i have them, and hate them-plus theyre heavy

go with the el rey from armada, lightweight ski, durable, low swing weight, i think cap construction (correct me if im wrong) so super durable edges. and theyre affordable

Not true though, i mean yea its nice to use whatever is laying around because you dont want to ruin your nice setup up. But if your in the park hitting rails and different features do you want something that can hold up? well id like something to hold up well if im hitting urban rails, i dont need to be hitting an urban dub kink with stairs and catch on the rail cause my edges are messed up

ha no way, ive had the suspects for a few weeks now and used them a lot and nothing besides top sheet chips, i havent looked into the el rey though thanks for that

i have a few friends that are happy with the afterbangs and they're meant for that, but dont quote me on it because i've never tryed them

Top sheet chips are nothing. maybe if you are a racer they should'nt chip, if your going to do rails and your going to hit urban the top sheet is the least of your worries, so to say that top sheet chips are ridiculous you're clearly not using your ski for what its for. As far as the edge armor i am interested to see if the cord will rip out when the edge does, cause it does make sense to distribute the pressure back onto the other edge but well see if it works
