Perception of Drugs and Stuff

its strange to think how our perception of things changes. Back in 6th grade I thought the kids who smoked were asses and throwing their life away, now the majority of people I know smoke occasionally. 7th grade the kids who snuck a beer were bad kids and in 9th grade it was weed. Now it seems like everyone I know smokes weed and its just as trivial as drinking water (not saying its a bad thing) and cocaine has become just as common place and if I find out someone does coke I'm like who cares. I even hear about kids doing heroine. Is it because I was nieve to what kids were doing when I was younger or do we have a drug problem
 
^yeah coke is huge here in san diego... i dont touch that shit though, but i know exactly what youre saying about how you look at drugs changes.
 
That's just disgusting. Weed is as commonplace as drinking water? What a sad commentary on the state of society - that's it now filled with a bunch of low-life lazy potheads.

Drugs are bad boys and girls, mmmkay. Any questions? lol
 
I think its becasue when were younger, were wayy more impressionable, so when adults, whom of which we look up to says "your going to hell if you smoke weed," we believe it. Now that we are older, have the hormones raging, and are able to think for ourselves, we can find out that weed isnt THAT bad for you, and that we are now much more inclined to rebel.
 
wow, I can't really comment on how sad their lives are because I have no concept on how people feel they need to do drugs. I chose a lifestyle of DH, everything I'm hooked on involves me thorwing myself off cliffs, planes, or speeding objects. my life must seem as weird to them as theirs to me.

I would never do chemical drus because I just don't 'trust' them, I've been known to smoke up once or twice but even that is Very rare...
 
we just become desensitized to drugs. speaking for myself, when i reached a certain age, probably 16 or soemthing, i realized that a good percentage of my friends were drinking and smoking pot relatively frequently. i got used to seeing it around, and i began to think how fun it looked. then i realized that these substances just seem to be arbitrarily blackballed by government/elders in order to keep us kids from having fun. then i experimented with most everything. then i realized that the blackballing wasn't so arbitrary in the first place. drugs and alcohol can be quite harmful if used in excess. then i realized that the blackballing is what enticed us youngsters to use the substances in excess.

i don't know if that made any sense but i tried to convey my everchanging attitudes towards drugs and alcohol.
 
Uhhh, what do you think THC is?

More people than you can imagine do coke. People you would look at and never think touch coke do it. Kids on sports teams do it. Coke is everywhere.
 
Ok, I know THC is the chemical that effects you but it is grown organically VS. having to cook meth with a long list of methyls and amines...
 
Actually, the weed you smoke has probably been chemically treated, laced, etc. Unless you know the direct source of growth, you should assume that something has been done to it.

 
Lots of people I know smoke weed and drink, its really common place around here. I don't care if you do or dont smoke, as long as your not an ass :D
 
i was sorta the bad kid untill like freshman year or 10th grade and then kids started doing shit too, and then some kids claim how hardcore they are saying "i was the one who got everyone to smoke and drink i was the first one" when in 7th grade they would basically cry if they found out i smoked
 
its actually really wierd that you point this out, one of the best athletes in my school, rediculous at lax and football, and a pretty big kid leg presses 900 something, kid came to school everyday last week on lsd, kids so screwed up but yet he is still an amazing athlete, you would never know he blows, pops acid lsd x, smokes unless you hang out with him on the weekend
 
I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you, ace. I think the majority of weed is just grown in homes by the pound, and lacing it with something would not only be difficult, but it would cost the dealer more money. So.... i think you're an idiot.
 
its true in 1-6 i and everyone else i knew thought drugs were horrible now weed is great because i'm not a ignorent anymore and tryed and liked it but at my school alot of girls do coke or K i still sort of look down on them a bit because addicive drugs are stupid but mostly i don't care
 
Drugs are as engraved into human society as religion and war. They aren't going anywhere. You just realize that more and more as you get older.
 
Wow I can't agree more with the original post. I feel exactly the same.

I think that we become desensitized as we grow up. Drugs have been arround for ever.. think about the 60's.

I do think that kids are trying drugs at a younger age. But kids in general are growing up quicker.

its your own body you should be able to choose what you put into it. your the one who is going to be effected by it weather it be good or bad. people perception of something is often what turns it in to a "drug"
 
i totally agree, if u were gona get laced shit it would cost a HELL of alot more, u think ppl would do it just for kicks to fuck ppl up!?? HELL NO everything takes some dolla billz yall

theres hundres and thoustands of different plants and strains and everyone has a different thc content,
 
weed aint a drug, its just a plant, it just grows like that. now if you just a happen to set it on fire.............. there are some effects. it aint a real drug, drugs you gotta add water, baking soda, stir it up- i dunno the recipe im just sayin

So many people here in Boulder smoke. So many middle aged people too. If things go well, Colorado will legalize marijuana on November 7th.
 
that a good point.. up untill i tried pot.. i hated everything like that.. booze was differant.. but shit i almost lost my freinds when i found they smoked at 7th grade... then i got high. became a raging stoner. eating shrooms dropping acid in my eye and down my pee hole.. yeah its a change. but i would not do a thing differant... a

matty... weed is not a drug,,,, its only downfall is it makes you complacent with being fuckin lazy
