So Pepsi is going this Project Called the Refresh Project where they give $250K to the top 2 winners with the best ideas.

A local Non-Profit to me called the "Boise Bicycle Project" or BBP for short, is in the running for this grant. Personally Last Summer I volunteered for BBP and I even got my bike there. They are a great thing to happen for the Biking Community of Boise, Idaho. They really did change my life. This do so much for the Community and are a great asset.

Right now the Pepsi Refresh Contest is going down and everyone can vote once per day till the end of September. By voting for BBP you help out an Important Non-Profit that does alot for the community by teaching bicycle safety, recycling bicycles, helping refugee's that can't afford bicycles, and even helping people to learn to fix their own bicycles. With the 250K they would:

"*Buy the building

*Add a 1000 sf. learning center for at-risk youth

*Remodel (green) the existing building w/ sky tubes, insulated garage doors, solar panels, a living roof, & a rain H2O system

*RECYCLE BIKES FOREVER "

So I'm asking you NS to help these guys Win, they are in 80th now but it is early in the month, every vote counts.

Thanks Everybody.

Unless you are from Idaho you can't volunteer for this specific one. But there are other non-profits like this in a lot of places. BBP has only been around since 2007, it was founded by some guys with a love for bikes that worked out of a garage. It later grew in what it turned out to be today, but how much it have thrived and seceded I wouldn't be surprised if the idea spread in the near future.

I went into volunteering know basics about bikes, I could change a flat and that was about it, now I can almost build a bike up if I truly wanted. Another plus is at BBP they have yearly membership options where you buy the membership and you can use the shop as much as you like to work on your bike using their tools, and they have a parts that you can buy used parts out of. It is really a Great Operation

Also you can vote for up to 10 Different Ideas per day and you can text in your vote for BBP by texting 102464 to Pepsi (73774)

One of these was in my shop this summer, except ours was open for a total of 4 hours.

Its such a great idea if youre able to keep it going. Me and most of my friends all ride cruisers/fixies and love shops like this.

Unfortunately, the co-op bike shop that opened here was 1) in a terrible location, 2) extremely expensive, and 3) run by a bunch of gypsy idiots.

It's awesome that this place is doing so well, i voted and will tell my friends to vote!
