Pep Fujas's Saga on Nollie lips Not skiing One Footers

you made a false statement. what is sicker a nollie lip or a one foot grind. its not a hard decisions. since pep is steezier than any quebecians hes correct.

are nollies that hard to learn? the one corey does in that vid is so subtle i had to rewind it once to pick out which rail it was, and once i noticed, it became obvious, but not until then.

nollies are dope tanner does them in PYB and its fuckin sick. one footers are also dope. i dont knoe about you but im getting sick of the same railslides and 3 switchups on a box. Not to say that switchups arent dificult, switchups are getting old and do not really interest me anymore especially when linked to 270 in 270 out. kids look like fools hopping around on boxes and rails. nollies and one footers are both new and inventive tricks which skiers have onlyt scratched the surface on. as someone said nollie spins? switch nollies? who knows???

you guys make me wanna puke...if tanner had done the one-footer you would all be like "oh my god oh my god that's the next big thing" but just because you think tanner was "robbed" by a one-footer, it's like "oh fuck the one-footer tanner's better with whatever he does, even if it's a triple twister spread eagle"

heres the main differences. nollies are all about utilizing the flex pattern of the skis and knowing how and when to pop, while one footers are just about balance. in my opinion, nollies just look a lot sicker, and theyre tight cause they are subtle but still really tech... one footers are kinda tech but the problem is, very very few people can pull off a one footer and make it look good. to me, nollies and butters go hand in hand cause when people know how to use their skis to their full advantage, they use the flex and come up with dope, interesting tricks...one footers really dont have anything special about them besides a little extra balance. you dont ski on one ski when you have two because u would look kinda sketch, so why slide rails on just one ski .and WORD to whomever said somethin about switch nollies and nollies with spins

theres one on expn in the x games where tanner nollies up to 450 to 270 out ill see if i can find a link

It's not that easy to see Tanners in that xgame vid. I think both are sick. What about a nollie to one footer?

nollie shows contol, it shows you are more than comfortable on your skis. I'm so sick of seeing dudes ski srtaight at a rail jump striaght up and do a 90 there is so many fun things you can do if u utilize your whole ski.

I haven't seen nollies in segments. But if you watch war, the like second or third hit John Symms does has a huge rewind. It's sick. I want to see more of that.

ar-six is the biggest dick ever, i saw pep at copper doing this stuff and it will be a big part of skiing once people see what its like, haters better get on your job

nollie nosepress WHAT????

1 footers are for rollerbladers not skiers...i dont hate on you anymore for doing them but i beg you not to as to not ruin our fair sport...

HAS GAGNIER SAID ANYTHING IN RESPONSE TO THIS?

WHAT I THINK IS THAT GAGNIER DOESNT NEED TO DEFEND HIMSELF BECAUSE HE IS BUSY SKIING, AND PERFECTING HIS 1-FOOTERS, HIS SKIING SPEAKS FOR HIM, WHILE PEP HAS TO SPEND THE TIME TO WRITE AN ARITCLE IN SOME K2 PROPAGANDA. IF HE IS SUCH A PROGRESSIVE SKIER, SHOULDn'T HE BE CONCERNED ABOUT IMPROVING HIS OWN SKIING, AND LETTING IT SPEAK FOR HIM?

i love the tech stuff like nollies an how sow boarders have diff angle when they do presses i think on skis that should be incorperated

dude you ragged on pep what the fuck???? Pep is one of if not the best, mostb "progressive" skier out he rips apart the park and destroys the bog mountain.... plus he is writing what he thinks is best for skiing and seeing as he is the dopest skier out he is one of the "leaders" in the sport. He should be trying to lead the sport in the right direction and teh whole K2 propaganda thing what the fuck they make a mag with dope articles and give it away for free... whats wrong with that...they are giving sad fucks like you something to do other than wish you could ski well enough to actually have something to brag about....

IT JUST SEEMS THAT GAGNIER SIMPLY SKIS, HE DOESNT TRY TO PUSH SKIING I THE DIRRECTION HE THINKS IS BEST, I LOOK UP AND RESPECT THAT MORE

i dont understand why everyone is comparing pep to gagnier. the quote is saying nollie or ollie lipslide as opposed to jumping from the side of a rail from one foot. gagnier does one foot slides ..., pep is doing lipslides from his tails/nose and ollie-ing his skis.

tanner does 2 onto that ledge in PYB. and yea knotbox needs to calm down. pep had his opinion but just because hes a pro doesnt mean you have to agree. ill say that yea tanners run prob mightve been better technically but how many of the judges do you think knew that nollies even existed in skiing yet? judging is always going to piss people off, but i dont think gagnier deserves any shit talk in the slightest.

so, are you going to spew out any more info that industry types feed into your feeble brain?

'utilizing the flex pattern of the ski'.

alot more than just nollies are utilizing the flex pattern of skis. give me a break.

and everybody, remember this. tanner lost the x-games in the jump section, not in the rail section.

again, his rails were better than charles. but charles jumps were better than tanners. therefore charles won.

it was never even about the backslide.

i think all yall motherfuckers overanalise the SHIT out of everything in this fucking sport. simmer down and just have FUN.

people do rewinds all the time... karlstrom in happy happy, tanner in wski106 are 2 memorable rewinds off the top of my head and i know there are a bunch more.

You're both right. I haven't seen wski in a long time, or happy dayz? is that what you mean by happy happy. I still stand by the fact that I want to see more of them, in bigger, more technical tricks, because I think they're sick.

no shit sherlock i didnt say nollies are the only way to use your skis. but youre a dumbass. think about all the different lengths and types of skis, then think about how many of those are made so that nollies and nose butters and stuff will be somewhat easier than an all mountain ski that is stiffer. obviously there are different ways to use your skis, but if youve got skis with a softer flex on tips and tails, kinda like ...o i donno, pep's pro models... then you can really use those skis how they were designed to be used. yea the industry advertises skis and says stuff about using the flex pattern, but its for a reason because they were designed that way. look at 4runners and subarus, etc: theyre designed differently than a porsche so they can be used in different ways. but i guess theyre all just cars huh

Sorry Joel, but I've never disagreed with you on this... and I've always felt that this is one of those instances in which you're guilty of being a Canadian first and a skier second. Yes, Tanner's rails were better than Gagnier's. Significantly. However, he was also not by any means outskiied on the bottom section of the course. His landings were not perfect. He touched a hand on the 10. But he looked better in the air than Charle did, and honestly, a switch 3? Come on now. Looked like it was about 5 feet off the snow. Add to that the fact that watching Gagnier ski switch from feature to feature isn't the prettiest sight, and that BOTH of his jibs were ugly enough to DETRACT from his score (hand up in the air on the 1-footer and coming off the f-d early), and that his stuff in the air, while clean, looked like he was spinning like a top on the first hit... well... yeah. Am I saying there's no room for argument that Charle was better in-air? No, I'm not. But I am saying that even if he was, it wasn't by nearly enough to overcome the nollie lip and 450 on 27 out. Tanner won slope. They just didn't give him the medal.

I should note that in my opinion Jon beat both of them completely just by virtue of how easy he made insanely difficult tricks look, from the 27 all the way to the switch 10 which he landed effortlessly... but as someone on here accurately said a while ago, robots like Jon get judged differently from us average human folk.

I can't believe I'm still arguing about the fucking X games from last year... shows how little actual comp stuff we get a chance to talk about. I think when it comes down to it, Andy Mahre said it best: "X games this X games that... who cares who won a fucking tv show." So despite all the stuff I just said and the fact that I probably come across as a major hypocrite here... I think I'll drop it at that.

J.D. are you saying a switch three isn't a good trick to throw in the X Games? I think a switch 3 is a great trick to throw in the X Games.

You'll read my opinion on the matter soon enough, but my two cents: first off, let's stop comparing, because this isn't "either-or"... both one-footers and nollies are sick. However, I think far too many skiers are still brainwashed by the style dictates of snowboarding, i.e. "skiers can't look good unless they look like snowboarders." A good example of this is one-footers - since they don't look like snowboarding, they must not look good, right? Bullshit - judge a trick on its technicality and its style, and dont let your judgment of style be influenced a snowboarding inferiority complex.

i've been waiting for this rebuttal for a while, now. should be plenty sick.

jd, tanner sketched out on the landing of his three final hits. including a huge compression on the landing of the money booter. he only has himself to blame for losing it like that.

gagnier went much bigger on the money booter and stomped it clean. the landing on his switch unnaty rodeo mute was way too clean. and his switch 7 nose mute...well, self explanatory.

and the switch 3 was sick.

and jd, it's the x-games, not the olympics. i'm not putting more emphasis on canadians winning by any means, so that is a ridiculous assumption to make. and as for jon olsson...had he hit the first rail instead of sketching out on the first box, he would have had gold no doubt. it just looked so goofy when he attempted to tailpress it, and i guess it threw the judges off.

you guys can bash the one footer v. nollie lip allday long, the fact is gagniers sw cork 7 was so much smoother and had way more style than anything tanner threw on that slopestyle run end of story, no way that he won the comp on that rail, tanner obviously slid it better but that doesnt mean he had a better run...

gagnier switch unnat rodeo 7 rev mute was perfect. he landed like 20 feet further than tanner. tanner hit the knuckle on his switch unnat 7 and put a hand down on the switch 1080 while Charles' switch 1080 was grabbed true tail all the way and landed in the Aspen cafeteria

i definatley agree. i'm not trying to diss him but people are just way to obsessed with him and look at him like hes god

eXACTLY jON GETS POINTS TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM BECAUSE HE NEVer has a flaw and so judges think he's not tryining Jon should have won everything this year
