Does anyone have videos of these xgames runs floating around?

Sadly it simply does not exist. I've gone straight to all potential sources for this and its just something that will have to be imagined.

lol yeah this has been asked many times, and it seems pretty definite that we will never see this footage, much like we will never know who packed dynamite in tanner's boots

i think it's probably for the better, anyway. i doubt it would live up to the hype that's been built around it-- better to be left as legend in the imagination. as i remember it, one of them drank a beer and called his mom while floating a cork 3 over the second jump

I guess you're never supposed to meet your heroes hahaha

I just relistened to the old NS radio episodes where Doug had the phone interviews with the whole IDEA crew. Pretty sweet history in that episode and how you talked about the future of skiing then and now it's that time that they were once talking about.

This is exactly the case. I've talked to people who were there and they didn't take it seriously because they knew they'd lose without the mega flip/spin combo. So they just fucked around instead of trying super hard with their immaculate style.

It was too bad, because I fought hard that year on the X-games selection committee to make that happen... but even the athletes were pissed off about it because everyone wants to tech their brains out and win cash. The athletes themselves are upset when someone comes in and messes with the system.

The whole comp machine is an almost unstoppable force. Its a machine driving us towards technicality and the "world stage" of the Olympics. It doesn't want to be changed.

Hah yeah, that shit was a long time ago. I loved doing that and if I actually had more time I would fully do a podcast with just the talking parts of NS Radio. However yeah its interesting to listen to old predictions like that and see how they actually play out.

This is a great reminder to go watch Idea. Thank you.

Now Imagine Idea had an X-games segment and it was as good as the rest of Idea.

Problem solved.

Or, just watch Idea and imagine that it came out this year, then agree with yourself (again) that it would still be hailed as on par.

Haha forgot about that. That interview spurned an drinking game in the old radio forum where you had to drink anytime someone said fuck. It was like every fourth word. Thanks for not killing anyone Pep.
