Does anyone else notice the elitest view of people who work in ski shops on here? They think they fucking know it all. Guess what? You work part time at some shop in bum fuck Michigan, you don't know shit. Don't respond to people about your omnipotent reviews after you flexed skis and fit a couple boots.
 
how about if you did it full time for a living in a huge city next to the mountains and have been skiing and studying skiing your whole life? then what?

well what if you did 12 or 13 days a month and still worked full time and had all the info? beyond all the dick move comments, maybe some of these guys have valid points. like that guy that knows like everything ever about boots and boot fitting. (well he just says the same thing everytime) he knows his shit, so what about him?
 
how about those of us who have worked in shops since the first generation 1080 was around, since when tanner rode for rossi and k2 made the AK enemy? those of us who spend hours fitting boots for all sorts of different kinds of feet, or who ski 5 days a week and have skied pretty much every ski we have on the shop wall? still think we don't have a clue what we're talking about?
 
28 days a month, I'm from the east and I only got about 8 days a month. I'd like to think I'm a good boot fitter. I've pobably fit about 75 different boots. I don't think I know everything about boots but I'd like to think I know a good deal. 28 days a month is steep which is what I hope to be skiing next year but I do hold some stock in variety of opinion.

And the asian comment...what the fuck?
 
28 days a month is rediculous. Regardless of whether or not i work part time or full time, i know skis and boots well enough to add good advice to any fucking thread i want. No one who works at a ski shop can ski 28 days a week, so shut the fuck up.
 
that would be challenging. imagine if you had to work in a ski shop 28 days a week that would be fuckin rough. dealin with texans and shit. and don't get me started on those people from michigan
 
Hey shithead, I worked in a shop and skied over 30 days in a row at the end of the season. If get splits it really isn't hard. The only people who actually know about skis work parking.
 
Some people have to work full time in a shop because there is a little thing called money and people need it to do this thing called living. So what if a someone who works in a shop can only ski weekends, they are actually getting more tech experience if they work more. You can't really base the knowledge of a shop-person by how many days they ski.

i agree with the thread creator. i hate it when people ask for info about skis and says "im 6'1" and i ski powder all the time" and some some 12-year-old says "get the armada t-hall" because that's the only ski they've ever heard of.

and his name is obviously a joke. no one would seriously make a screenname about snowblading for NS
 
you know what? yes there is a knowledge difference between people that work in shops and people that don't.

i worked basically full-time fitting boots in shops for a few years and yes i do know more than you. why does the elitest attitude come out? because it seems like 3 or 4 times a week we see threads like "what's the best boot?" or "im looking at buying my boots online..." i've fit FIS level racers on the ontario ski team, done boot work for freestyle skiers on the Southern Ontario Region team so i think i know a little bit of what i'm talking about.

these are comments that simply lack common sense. if you don't know enough to go to a bootfitter and let them help you with your boots then you deserve all the attitude you get. especially when we hear shit like, "dude i just bought these $700 skis and $150 pair of boots"

there are people on here that are more than willing to help but when you come off as cocky little shits right out of the gate you're going to get owned repeatedly (yes i did spell it O-wned).

Seriously this site, is FULL of lemmings. Honestly, my buddy lyndon rocked the PX last year. His bindings didn't even last the whole season. My salomon 810 ti ( which some say is the worst binding) held up better then any of my look/rossi bindings. I think kids just need to stop looking at the pros and figure out what works for them.

Working part time at a shop does make that alot easyer. You jib up bindings, measure up people for the PROPER gear, and the proper size, fit out boots, etc. SO of course there going to know more then the average ding dong kid on NS who is on the forums all the time thinking hes/shes king shit.
 
i work at shop and we get more salomons come in that broken than anything else.

The only problem we usually get with the Rossi/Look bindings is like snowbladesarefun said, is that the brakes can break easily.
 
haha yeah...except ive worked at a shop for 2 years. what i meant by my post was that your just being a whiny little bitch and theres nothing to be angry about. fuck you.

wow..everyone is so sassy in this thread! it's intense...too bad we can't like smoke a couple bowls and calm everyone down..but anyhoo, i'd have to say that if there is a question about skiing i don't know then i ask my shop guy cause he's the shit. He did wonders to my bases, fixed my bindings and my boots and now they're are amazing. So if your a shop guy out there props dude, cause you get me back on the hill fast and in good condition.
 
The elitist attitude comes in to play when they simply do know more than you and many of the ignorant masses of people around these days.
 
word, welcome to my life. I work at a shop all day everyday, and have been for quite some time. I'm sorry haters are jealous.
 
The Rossi Bode skis are only 3 seasons old not 5, I'm pretty sure Bode still skied for Fischer 5 years ago. Most American Ski shops won't warranty skis purchased in Europe. Plus Rossi's warranty is only good for one year on skis or two years if you get the skis with Rossi bindings.

Hope I didn't sound too elitist for you. Just trying to spread knowledge.
 
When I lived in Indiana I had 110 days on snow. I only missed 7 days that the ski area was open, but got in like 15 pre/post season. I skied almost every twin that came out that year, and I didn't work in a shop. I'll offer whatever advice I want. I'm not gonna make something up. don't be a clown.
 
hold on, you skied 5 days a week while working in a shop? explain!

last season i only made it on snow 28 days and i was pushing it while working full-time (up to 60hours a week)
