I searchbarred and didn't find what I wanted. I'm loooking to get somehting rockered next season and I want some advice from people who ski in CO. I'm trying to find a traditional sidecut rockered ski that can play on groomers as well as hold up bombing down Imperial on choppy windblown days at high speeds. I'm thinking leaning toward the S7 or Bibby. Am I on the right track? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

the two you mentioned,

add obsethed and the new kung fujas are going to be rockered, as well as the volkl gotmas

Definitelty gonna check those out. I'm looking to go fatter than seths or kungs. Also gonna check out nighttrains.

I ski Loveland, I use the Armada JJ for everything. I use them for pow, groomers, trees, whatever. There so sick and do very well even on the groomers. I would totally look into these skis. I am 160, 5ft8in and I ski the 175's

I've seen next years and they arent really a traditional rocker shape, more like a really mellow reverse camber that intensifies a little bit near the tip and tail.

the night trains look they they might put up some competition with the JJ's.

look into either of those.

also the bibby sounds good, though its more of a jib stick.

stomped..
but really from what it sounds like where your skiing id get next years fujas.....

I ski SuCo every now and then, and have been on the Bibby 190 for the better part of the season. Captain Obvious says they're sweet in pow, but once things get tracked out off the Ridge at Loveland, they're plenty stable at high speeds. I I don't ski groomers much, but haven't had and troubles when I did.

The video below contains footage mostly in the area:

How much fun can you have on groomers? I don't turn a lot, but the Bibby was plenty stiff underfoot for high speeds while giving you enough edge grip when you needed it. The 186 has zero camber if I remember correctly (or pretty damn close to zero) while the 190 has about 1-2cm worth which will help a lot on the groomers. Is it gonna be the same as skiing something sub-100 in the waist and stiff like a Legend Pro? No, but they certainly won't leave you wishing you had something else under your feet.

I haven't skied the S7, but from what I read, they are pretty much a soft snow ski that is okay on hard stuff. The Bibby 190 is awesome in powder, but still feels pretty damn good on non-soft snow conditions.

The JJ appears to be pretty damn similar to the Bibby so I guess at that point it could very well be a tossup between the two.
