i just started this season, over thanksgiving. i snowboarded for ten years. i just got bored with it. it felt like i did the same shit every time i went out. i got an old pair of rossi vipers over christmas break and started skiing every day. at the end of break i got some lines.
i have so much more fun skiing than i did snowboarding, it's like i never want to snowboard again. another reason why i switched is that most of my friends ski so it was pretty wack when i went with them and was the only snowboarder.
i picked it up pretty quick. when i started i was just like 'fuck it, i'm going to do everything my friends do'. my first run on skis we hiked up to the hanging valley wall on snowmass. if y'all are unfamiliar it's a double black and it's pretty steep at parts. i didn't even know how to turn, it was pretty funny. it was a powder day, i must have ejected ten times my first run. it was pretty hilarious. i just went all out and i got good pretty quick, i had to to keep up with my bros. the hardest thing about skiing is the moguls. i'm horrendous, i just go as fast as i can through that shit and wreck, you know my steez.
