People who still hate on Wikipedia

after being fucked up and trying to change shit, i realized how legitimate wikipedia really is.

How fucking dumb, that in this day and age, there are still those who discredit the website. Its such a valuable resource for learning and brushing up on knowledge. Now, it might not be suitable for citation, but i personally find it ignorant for a person to question the legitimacy of general knowledge found on wikipedia.

Been using it for years for general info that doesn't need to be cited, and it has never done me wrong. Profs. just hate on it because they think it makes their students lazy.
 
if the page has credible sources and is verified, then it's legit.... but then again, everyone is entitled to their own knowledge over the internet, so you must tread lightly and take what you read with a grain of salt
 
When I look up something on Wikipedia let's say and find someone calling a pro fighter named Kazushi Sakuraba a muslim from Iran in the first two sentences it still needs some work.
 
and even if its not legitimate enough for citations, they almost always have their sources listed at the bottom which has helped me out quite a bit
 
very true, people always act like "everyone can write that shit" blablabla. but i tried to edit the page of a german folk-show-presenter/singer and made him die during an alcohol and slut-orgy.
BOOM, 2 FUCKING hours later, the school ip was banned from wiki-edits and the page was correct again.
 
I use wiki for almost every one of my assignments and its money as shit. Plus, like stated earlier, if you change something it will usuallly be corrected like an hour later
