I saw a guy die on a run yesterday. He was an old man, and he fell and smacked his head and died. It really saddened me to think that a guy would just be going out to have a good time, and then it would end just like that. Have you ever seen/known anyone who has died skiing?

Girls don't like sensitive guys. Since I don't treat women like objects, I have to treat objects like women.

sucks man....at loon a man was skiing with his daugter and he fell off a cat walk down a wiked icey steap trail, slid into some trees and died. the daughter didnt know he was dead so she tried to go down the trail to him, sliped, and died too.

A kid died at loon 2 years ago I heard. He went off a big kicker and overshot it and snapped his neck.

You gotta be careful when skiing, and know your limits.

Anyway sorry to hear that you had to witness it, and that it had to happen.

a snowboarder at my mountain skied out of bounds and went down in this chute. he died and now his 9 year old son rips with me and my crew

 
That all is really sad and sucks so much. But thinking about it, I think i would rather die skiing and having fun than to die in a car accident

Last year we got like 84 inches in 24 hours at bridger and some guy landed on his head in the pow and they found him 3 days later

an old lady at a private club near where i ski got run over by a cat backing up. i guess she couldnt move in time. the funny thing was her family members are mostly lawyers so im guessing the club is gonna get the bad end of that deal...

Yes it happens that people die skiing, it is after all a dangerous sport that involves high speed and big air, no kidding people are going to die. And any way people die doing EVERY THING, not just skiing. it does suck though, Makes you realize you could go at any time.

I saw a little kid catch his edge while he was fuckin' ripping through glades. He smacked his head on a tree, so I yelled at his stupid parents for letting him do that and not caring. It was fun... they were foreign

some guy was skiing last year with his brother who is on ski patrol at our mtn and apparently the guy lost control and hit a tree off the side of my favourite trail (other than the ParK) and he died. The scariest part is that me and my friends go off the trail on purpouse on that trail to get some good glades skiing in and he hit a tree in like the exact spot where ive stood before ( we know this b/c it was fenced off w/ caution tape for like a month afterward)

I couldn't imagine watching my parents die. I felt really bad though when i laughed at the one where the guy fell down the slippery slope and died and then his daughter went to help him and she slipped and died too. I dunno it just made a really funny picture in my head.

a kid at my mountain fell off a 65 foot lift on his head and snaped it. There was blood al over and i was in shock. It was real bad, i couldent ski.

I saw a guy overshoot a big table and mash himself up pretty bad, he died about 2 hours later. I saw someone else have a heart attack when they were getting on a lift, ski patrol were giving him CPR for about 20 minutes, then he was pronounced dead.

It was sad to see those people die, but it didnt bother me that much. Everyone has to go sometime.

In tractor pulls, a 'full pull' is the best you can get. Ahh, how sport mirrors life.
 
I was in the lodge of the end of the day getting ready to leave when this older man got a heart attack. He was dead before the ambulance could make it out.

Just remember . . . when it's your time to go it doesn't matter what your doing. It may be on the hill or eating some wings and drinking beer. I just hope my time is a long ways off and it's on the hill or in bed having fun.

Ive indirectly seen people die. Avalanche rescue is all fun and games until you have to pull a corpse out of the snow because they didnt test the conditions.

 
Two great skiers that I know have fallen and not gotten back up.

1. Mihai Constantinescu (MC) moved to Squaw from the east with some other freestyle buddies. He was taking a run on KT at Squaw when he died. He hit a cliff and punched and started flipping into trees. He got knocked out and suffocated, face down in the snow. RIP MC

2. Landon Sawyer skied on the CU Freestyle team. During a mogul comp, he was simply skiing back to the lift, caught an edge and hit a tree and died. His spirit lives on through Lando's Mojo, a foundation that supports aspiring freestylers in need. RIP Landon

 
i was in sun valley and my family didn't wanna pay like 150 bucks total fer tickets so we signed up for this little competition thing. gs race, then a cross country and then would figure the total time well this old guy was going down the gs course and fell i forget exactly but he hit his head hard and was unconcius and slide like a fucking torpedo like 30 feet right into these tree's and lucky the tree hit his shoulder and not his head or else he probably would be dead cause his helmet went flying off when he fell. scary shit seeing all that blood coming outta his head. he got lucky

yea dude. This black kid from philly came up to bear creek last year, beginner. He was skiing down the black right under the lift, caught an edge and slammed his head face first onto a boulder. blood everywhere. Died at hospital 2 days later. sad shit

 
i was skiing at snowmass two years ago durring the xgames and we saw this guy ski down the lift and then fall over...we thought he was exhausted and resting but when we got down he was still there. Apparently he had a heart attack and died on the spot. Never seen a person die before until then...creepy

not ski related, but last year my dad had a heart attack in the basement, and i had to run down and give him cpr, but he didnt make it. i could tell when i first saw him, i couldnt see any life at all in his eyes.

once at my local hill i was hanging out in the lodge, eating some SNAX. there is this giant window in front of the bar so you can watch the skiers (the lodge is right in the middle of a run.) anyways, the snow is deep that day; its up to the window of the bar! this older man, about 50, is out of controll, and coming right for the window. so this fat fuck is crusing at a good 30 miles per hour when he tries to fall to stop before he smashes through the glass. no such luck, the fat faggot dives the FUCK through the window of the bar, glass everywhere. hes bloody body lands right on the fucking bar seconds before hes sliced in two by a giant pane of glass. another pane of glass falls and cut the bartender in two from the shoulder. two other guys sitting at the bar are also decapitaed during the rucess, it was terrible.
