For people that live in Connecticut. There is currently a marijuana decriminalization bill in the senate and it would be great if you could send this e-mail to your representatives. Just fill out the information and it will send the generic letter to the right reps... This bill will make it so you will not get a criminal record and ridiculous fine if you are caught with under an ounce of Marijuana.

It will take 3 minutes please do it.

fuck mary jane bring legal. thats gay. too many people in my school do it and its gay so NO!!!!

I can tell you are young and maybe in Junior High School. I am not saying that to insult but simply have not looked at objective viewpoints on the issue. Please watch the movie "the Union" you can find it on google. Do some research into this drug, its history, its effects, and the stigma surrounding it that has been fed to you throughout your whole life.

This bill is to decriminalize, not legalize. The people in your school are still doing it even though it's illegal. This will only make it so that they do not get a criminal record and have their lives ruined because of their poor choices now. They will still have to go to a drug class and pay a fine if they are under 18 and only a fine if they are over 18.

Open your mind and learn things on your own. The internet is unlimited knowledge at your fingertips. Don't think like the voting base in this country and believe spoon fed bullshit. Decide based on truths.

i doubt the bill decriminalizes it for Jr.High schoolers so i don't think you have to worry about it

You obviously can't read. Probably because too many people in your school do it which makes it gay. You're so non conformist!

The bill is to decriminalize not legalize. Look it up.

I did!! keep that greenery strong in 860!!

haha btw thats the only thing that made sundown any fun after freshman year!

(aside from their sometimes decent park, but even in there i was blazed. haha)

done.

they just did it in mass, all of my friends are so stoked about it.

I'm from Trumbull CT.

I'm from deep river near old saybrook at the mouth of the CT river... I know a few kids from trumbull they graduated two or three years ago though.

Done, showin love to the old 860. Sucks that Rell is so dead set against it that were gonna need a 2/3 vote to over ride the veto.

Okay, I think you are over dramatizing it. Almost every application I have applied at lately asks if you have a criminal record and says dont answer yes if its just for Mary j. Most places really dont care anymore

not very true. Most state/govn't/union jobs care. Also you can't get financial aid if you have a drug conviction. It's still a very real issue, and fortunately some employers may look the other way or have a sensible policy.

October 10, 2008 marked the arrest of the 20 millionth cannabis consumer arrested under cannabis prohibition, since 1937.

yes that is a long span of time, but considering Police arrested a record 872,721 persons for marijuana violations in 2007, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Report

there seems to be no trend for it to stop.

so every time you live in a non decrim state and get 'let off' by a reasonable officer, thank you lucky stars.

bump.... is rell really against it? I haven't really looked into that but that is pretty weak. It's just a decrim bill for fuck sakes, stop punishing people so harshly for something that affects no one but the user.

We're not there yet...
"Despite the positive vote Tuesday night, the bill still faces an uphill battle as Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell opposes the decriminalization. Rell vetoed a bill two years ago that would have allowed the use of marijuana for medical purposes to relieve pain...
Cooper noted that the committee vote does not guarantee that the bill will be approved by the full House and Senate. "It may never reach her desk," he said."

(from the article you posted above)
Sucks I know, but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm pretty sure she ran as a Dem... She is just retarded, I feel like there is either more at play behind the scenes with the governor's office or she really has no brain.

She was against abortion based on her claim that "marriage was for reproduction". Under that logic, people who were old and couldn't reproduce couldn't get married? Wdf.
