so i was reading a bunch of stuff from people who don't like obama, and one of the most common laments i saw was because he didn't do all he planned to, and because obama watered down a lot of his proposals. do you guys not understand politics, or what?

a) DUH he won't be able to compete everything he said he would! did you really expect him to? don't be silly. i really doubt there has ever been a candidate who completed everything he said he would. that really isn't a mark against obama. he's just slightly more left wing than bush, who completed exactly the same number of his promises.

b) so the way that the senate works, is that someone proposes an idea, and the senate votes for it. you need like 60% or something like that to win. since obama was running a minority, some of the republicans had to vote for his idea also. so somehow these idiots wanted obama to magically get all his ideas through? no fucking way. this isn't obamas fault, it's the republicans who all voted against him. by watering down his proposal, obama made (i thought) a fairly good job of getting at least SOME of his ideas through. it would be impossible to pass full scale versions of his plans. they'd be shot down in minutes.

tl;dr vote obama

you are so dumb, become better informed before you make an outlandish remark like this again.

for the first 2 years of his term he had over 60 people in the senate that were democratic, that is enough to stop a filibuster and be able to conduct one. also enough to pass a bill which you only need 50 at first, unless he vetos it which then you need 75.

you also forgot about the house of representatives which was a democratic majority also.

this means that democrats had to vote against the wonderful ideas that he proposed.

have you ever taken a civics class?
 
This is stupid. Does Congress take a larger share of the blame? Oh certainly. That place is a massive clusterfuck. But Obama has failed so hard at the leadership role, it isn't even funny. I am so disappointed. He could have done more. Quite a bit more, considering the wave of public approval he rode into office. My hope is that if he gets reelected he will stop giving a fuck about being bipartisan and being nice, and just start fucking shit up and telling it like it is. I'm sort of hopeful, but not really.

Next year, I will vote for him, because, while the Democrats suck, the Republicans are legitimately scary.
 
once i realized what type of person you are and that i've known a number of people exactly like you, i just can't help but laugh at you and everything you post, it would do you some good to pull your ego down just a bit and then maybe you would actually convince people of what you're saying as opposed to sounding like a pretentious asshole

op you are stupid as fuck. obama is a terible president, bush was awful too. we need a trustworth president that dosnt throw money at americas problems. in americas situation right now, conservitism makes so much more sense
 
i think everyone just figured out that every candidates bullshits a lot to get into office

but they haven't figured out that president =/= problem solving wizard

also, the economy ate ass as bush was leaving so really it was bush's fault and obama was stuck with the problem and blamed for it by ignorant people who bitch but don't try to actually do anything
 
thanks woozy. i really was ill-informed when i read this. your huge ass post was interesting, and i read it all (no lie). however, to how much money Obama spent (the 4.something trillion) bush was not the victim of a recession, while Obama was.also, i didnt mean that obama was blame-free, just that people seemed to be pinning more shit on him than they should.
 
It seems the only time we ever agree is never about the actual issues, but on obama himself. I'm so happy with that post
 
Just saw this thread, didn't look at the date, and was about to come in here to post, "What the fuck is QQing?" only to see that I had already posted the exact same thing in this thread already. Apparently I never figured it out.
 
My idea of a perfect government is one guy who sits in a small room at a desk, and the only thing he’s allowed to decide is who to nuke. The man is chosen based on some kind of IQ test, and maybe also a physical tournament, like a decathlon. And women are brought to him, maybe ... when he desires them.
