Its true. WHy do people focus there lives on being popular and shit? Why can't people just enjoy people and not make things all political? I don't know, maybe you do. I am sick of bandwagons and people whoring themselves into A.) Friends. B.) Sponsors (if you don't love skiing truely then don't pretend like you do) and C.) Being cool. If 2 of your pals love skiing don;t go out and send companies envelopes with your adress wanting stickers, so that you can put them on your binder to look cool for school.

Sorry about this rant. Willem gets frusterated with people being SO INSANELY STOOOOOPID.

I put stickers on my board (yes, snowboard) to remind me of all of the companies that I love and that work towards bettering the slopes. Also, free advertising is going to help the companies that I love.

But other than that you are totally correct.

Also putting stickers on your shit isn't that bad, I don't do it but I'm going to put a few on my calc so I know what one is mine.
 
In my school everyone wears burton stuff and they have never strapped up on a real snowboard. And almost everykid owns some sort of skateboarding clothing and they cant even kickflip. Its sad but thats life.
 
Yea skateboard clothing has infiltrated pretty much every store kids can shop at, and even though I longboard and am not very sucessful on a regular deck, I do admit i own my share of DC hoodies and skate shoes. The shoes are comfortable and good for longboarding too, and some sweatshirts are pretty dope as long as its not the same one everyone is wearing. However, when it comes to ski clothing, it is such a small niche in popular fashion that people adorning ski or snowboard logos who do not actually ski or snowboard are pretty lame. I will admit at one point I owned a Burton sweatshirt even though I ski, but it was a christmas present and comfortable and to not use it would just be disrespectful to the gift giver. In the long run, it is okay to own ski, snowboarding or skateboarding clothing as long as its for the right reasons. Don't wear clothing just for the sake of a name, or to be "cool" or "popular". Wear something that expresses who you are, how you feel and makes you comfortable.

One time I was bored so I started doodling ski brands on my binder but not to try to be cool.

yeah people at my school are so lame. like this one kid whos skied like 5 days of his life posts pics of tanner hall and steve stepp and shit on his myspace claiming its him. and today hes telling me about all the sweet tricks hes learning this winter. im so sick of everyone.
 
yea i know tons of kids like that. really pisses me off. everyone just chill and have a good time skiing. i dont care if you can do just a 3 or you can do a 9. if your having a good time thats all that matters

Well, we are all hypocrites;some worse than others. People blame top pro like Dumont of being a sell out and a attention whore, turn their backs and try to sell themselves. Everyone tries to be like anyone else. The people who lead the revolution are often pushed by companies to influence others to buy their product. The worse part is the technique worked. People focus more on how they act or dress than just having fun.

I dont buy in to that stuff, I buy from small companies or I buy stuff because its comfortable. Nobody will realize because they are playing in a triviality, fascist. self imposed society. Outcasts become the enemy. It sickens me.

some people do get more stupid but it sounds like willem is in hs and alot changes once you get out of that shit...i found that people (including myself) dont care about that shit as much in college....i may be wrong
