Penguin jibfest

pretty sketchy, but a good time none the less, free shwag, early season jibbing, burgers and dogs, skiers (and boarders) from all around. you don't want to miss it.
 
oh and rumor has it that there is gonna be new and more powerful minds behind the setup and organization of this years.
 
dbeck's right, this years penguin jam SHOULD be very different from years past, its been in the works for a while.
 
mankato, the flying penguin is the local ski and bike, the jibfest is usually held during mid to late october
 
people come down, and more people should try to make it this year for sure. a couple years ago there was a pretty big group from pine i think, last year there wasn't as many tho. steve is a reoccuring customer, and last year ringsmuth came down to steal the show.
 
well you gotta climb up two sets of scalfolding, ice rink snow for drop in and landing. one year they had a flat down, the next year they and an option of a flat box or gap to pvc rail-i think allen has a video of it? its on youtube at least, and last year they had a down box-theres a picture of it in ringsmuths pictures i beleive-yes i'm a creep
 
for this years rail jam they're planning on having....guess... and actual rail! whoa what a concept i know..... we may have a rail builder that can weld what we need.

sorry allen.. i would delete it but i don't know how, and i sucked even worse, i hadn't even been skiing a full season before it, and i was a gaper and a half, in the last shot i actually missed the rail, haha
 
yeah man i was such a tool- north face coat, tight pants, poles about two feet too long, the only trick i could do was slide the box to switch... i am ashamed of myself...
 
isn't this what was said lest year 2? then when we got there we all were somewhat disappointed...

yeah, disappointing indeed, the "management" in past years, namely last year never really even thought of getting ready until the day before the jam. where some of us kids were there at 7 am putting it all together, and a "jib" didnt show up until like noon.
 
yeah the only thing they had planned out was that dfd box, they had been talking it up so much to jon (the dude that owns the penguin) then it was such shit i think maybe two people made the whole thing, shits gonna change this year tho
 
no its not, i remember thinking the same thing when i drove but its a british flag. clues why its there
 
last year was the norwegian flag, the year before that was the swedish flag....this next year....? pirate flag.
 
hmmmm.......its from mnscratchskier.........y does that name seem familiar.......i saw an asian in the video but he(she?) was riding k2's....allen only rides line....it cant be him
