Moonstone, Snow Valley and Horseshoe are about an hour away from Toronto, give or take 15 minutes.

Blue mountain is about 2 hours away, but is the best by far.

there are a few little tiny hills within the toronto suburbs - Uplands and umm.. uh... North York Ski Centre, but neither of them have terrain parks and are less then 130 feet tall. But they are cheap.

moonstone is like 1.5 hrs from toronto (or atleast from my house). caledon is close, and its got a park. i think its semi-private or soemthing but its easy to get in as a guest. just say u know mike smith..i bet theres a mike smith whos a member there..haha

^haha thanks for the advice

its actually for my cousin moving here from whistler for school..... i heard moonstone was amazing... i've never been there, i skied a blue a bit this year and we all know its the best ontario has to offer but a pass is super expensive compared to moonstone isn't it?

moonstones good, but i u should go 4 blue, cuz the park is better there, and u will meet some of us there, yep lol the culture...alright, there r some in mid-toronto, but it takes longer to get up on the chairlift than to get down, alot longer...but if u dont want to drive alot, urban rais are where its at, theres the thrill, the non-skiing public, and the fucking rent-a-cop security gaurds...o and real police 2!

moonstone isnt crap. it has a good park. and its a hell of alot cheaper than blue is. blue is way overpriced for what you do.(just ski park) but it does have a better park.. but i dunno. moonstones park isnt that horrible so u get your monies worth.

im out

Last time I was at Moonstone it was really good. Blue stepped it up this past year but it can get SUPER-CRAZY busy and its pretty damn expensive.

I'd say check out Moonstone and Blue and then make your decision as to where to go. But definately do check out both.

you can't spell sick without ck

blue is overpriced??

a lift ticket for blue mountain is about $10 less that a lift ticket at moonstone and horseshoe. Blue costs $29 for a day ticket and horseshoe is around $40 (these are intermediate (under 18) prices). The season pass at blue is also cheaper, at least if your under 18.

Blue mountain had an incredible park for what people from ontario are used to. The only downside is theres no middle ground, theres the really shitty small parks and then theres badlands.

Moonstone has a so-so park. They had (at the end of last season), 2 tiny, under 10 ft, tables. They also had a pair of kickers that were poorly made, they were about 25 feet, but you needed about enough speed to overshoot a typical 45 foot jump to even come close to making the landing.

Horseshoe is the most expensive i think, and the park is a joke. I wont bother descibing it.

Overall, blue is the best bet. Best price, best park, no bullshit.

if you ski groomers, however, i have no idea what is best. Sadly enough, i had a season pass at blue and only ever skied outside the park twice. But i got a beavertail, so it was worth it!

Moonstones park is always changing. We get new kickers weekly. We had a HUGE hip which then got converted into a kicker. The right side trail is all kickers and they are always pretty big some times by the end of a Saturday the landings can be rough but thats ok we deal. Always TONS of people around from all levels... Moonstone is just a totally different scene then Blue.. it all depends on what floats ur boat really...

Yeah I said 'last time i skied moonstone' - which was like two years ago. Anyways for me, being 22, its $50 for a lift ticket to Blue (not that i've had to deal with that, thanks Jodi)

My basic feeling is that both Blue and Moonstone are worth checking out. I've had some great days at Moonstone and I had some epic ones at Blue last year.

Who knows, maybe this person will like the atmoshpere at Moonstone. As far as features go, of course Blue kicks everyones ass (including all of ontario and tremblant)

thanks for all the info

Yeah, don't worry. We all know that Blue is where its at but it can't be too one-sided. Moonstone isn't all bad.

you people missed out on tali's park this year. i'll admit that it was shit in past years but thanks to our new park designer it was off the hook this year and no one even knew about it! no lift lines and no attitude in the park!

volume 2, issue 3 of SKIER magazine rated blue the best park in the east. surprisingly, trembland was fourth.
