Got to shoot with Logan Imlach one day, made this little day edit form our hot-lapping. Check it!

A few notes:

-Glidecam was miserably off-balance

-I attempted some sound design work in this edit

-Finally got to shoot with a tripod, hell yeah. Thought I was pretty far away, but oh well. Guess my next investment is a 70-200?
 
i knew someone would use the wu tang hey joe! such a sick remix..

anyway....I fucking loved the colors in the shot when logan was on the lift. so rad. I liked the addition to the tripod in this edit. as you said, maybe get some of those shots a little tighter. but i really really liked that edit, my favorite from you.

how is the ace working out for you?
 
When compared to manfrotto's in the same price category, the ace slays! It's such a huge upgrade from any manfrotto I've used. The bowl-head makes it so its easy to hotlap and the counterbalance system is nifty as well.

I highly recommend it over any manfrotto. It's not the greatest tripod ever (there's some evident flaws in my opinion) but for the price its unbeatable
 
Only huge qualm I had was that your tripod shots lacked variety - so much empty space in all of them! In some I was appeased because Logan rode through the empty space toward the end of the shot, but in most it was just left untouched, and it made me say "meh"

Follows were smooth, regardless of the imbalanced glidecam, and you had good variety in the follow shots you took and promoted that in the way you edited them.

Liked the variation of speed - you had some fast shots and some slow shots, that worked well.

Note on sound design: It bothered me that you had sound on some shots, and then, on similar, almost equivalent shots, there was no sound! Where'd it go!? I'd argue that if you're not gonna put sound on all the shots, at least in some way/shape/form, don't do it at all because it's inconsistent. In the future, maybe just dub some good rail audio from shots you didn't use over the shots that you're using that maybe have shoddy or fucked up audio. That way you can keep the edit consistent and use sound to add depth.
 
As milo said, with the sound design, It makes a huge difference to have to consistant throughout the edit. Also, in shots like the wallride, there was some good audio going up the wall but then he landed on the top and there wasn't any sound then he landed and there was sound. Make sure the audio stays throughout the whole shot or else it's kinda weird.

Colors looked tite! from sunny to cloudy you kept them consistant and i think your blues are starting to get better.
 
I agree with everything previously stated but i also noticed a quick lag or skip in one of the early clips where you applied slow motion only on the down part of the rail

 
I dont know shit about what goes into making an edit but that was pretty dope. Timberline looks like a blast!
