go to your local ski show and get a p-tex candle. light it on fire and let it drip onto the holes. after it hardens use a razor blade to romove the excess.

well you can keep them from chipping anymore by filing down the side of the top sheet to about a 45 degree angle

if its deep, use epoxy. if the gouges are deep you dont want the wood to get wet, that could really cause problems.

My PE's topsheet chipped cuz that shit normally happens no big deal... but after a while you could see the wood core and all the triaxel braiding and it got water in it even though i epoxy'd it and my wood started splitting apart so i sent them to K2 and got new ones, its a defect after a while it will get really bad a lot worse than normal chipping

hahaha i started laughing so hard at the thought of someone trying to p-tex their topsheet.

so far as I know, that happens cause its a die-cut top sheet. It chips away slowly rather than the whole topsheet ripping off when a rock gets in there. Mine are pretty gnarly too

Yea, well besides the fact that the topsheets themselves are made out of p-tex.... hmmm! maybe it WOULD work? MAYBE!

There are three things you can try man.

1. The p-tex method. It might work well because that's what the topsheets are.

2. I have heard that nail polish and/or nail hardener works well

3. Epoxy... but get a bendable kind that won't just crack out. Some epoxy stays a little rubbery. That's what you want.

could work, but most topsheets are made of a harder polyethylene than

p-tex called polybutylene terephthalate (or PBT) with nylon woven in,

so my guess is the soft p-tex wouldn't stick. But that's not going to stop

me from p-texing the topsheets of an old pair of skis tomorrow to see

if it would work! My dad said epoxy works pretty well for minor gouges

and cracks.

the fucking PE topsheets are P-TEX that means to fix them all you have to do is use p-tex. They arent a normal topsheet like most other skis. K2 did that specifically for this reason so you P=TEX!!

yea you guys should know what your talking about before you make fun of someone. first of all, arabianknight was right on thats what you SHOULD do with PEs cuz they're topsheet is infact made of ptex as someone else has pointed out. and the ptex topsheet chips like a mofo so his skis are probably way more messed up than you are thinking, you can take chunks out of it pretty easy. hopefully for 07 they used a different material, i think they did but i dont know for sure

^I agree I don't like the current topsheet. The first day I ever skied mine I sliced it down to the core. I just PTEXED IT and I was on my way.

I know, but like is said before, the topsheets of the PE's are specifically P-TEX, not any other polyethylene. It's the same as the bases.

dude, topsheets are the sole reason why people buy the ski in the firstplace. any cosmetic damage = not popular/shameful/needs new skis immediatly.
