SKI FOR LIFE

haha welll i skiied on publics last yr, and did not like them at all... however ive never skiied the chronic, so i cant say to much about them

Chronics yo! Save some cash for almost the same ski (also next year's will have sidewalls if you like that sort fo thing).

I like this years PE, graphics (better than last years) and so fair they have been good to ski on. I haven't yet used mine for park (not enough snow for a park at my home mountain) but they are fairly heavy (but durable) so... You can ski park with them though, haven't used the Chronic's so can't give a comparison.

i was looking at both these skis too

i ended up w/ the PEs and i love them.

theyre pretty stiff but that just might be cuz im pretty light but i like a stiffer ski

also i just started getting into park this year and i think they work just fine, very durable. the only complaint might be is that theyre kinda heavy.

overall a great ski

havent heard much about the chronics or how they ski

owned.

but id go with chronic wides if you ski some place with a little pow, otherwise chronic blends are the shit. little softer and sidewalls are the shit.

next years chronics are different from past years, little wider 85 waist, more even slightly softer flex, and sidewall construction

not sure what new pes are like

if your planning on just skiing park, i would suggest the invader, or the fujative. the 2 skis your thinking of are both good all mountain skis which will work fine in park, but if you plan on riding 95%+ in park then i would advice one of the first to skis i suggested

Why?

I've been riding PEs for 2 years, and I LOVE them. They're so sick, but they're just a bit too much for some people in the park....

it's kinda funny that no ones brought up the fact that they are made by the same company as of this year.

don't buy either yo ucould get such a better ski for about the same money. like rossi's or salomons.

Please inform me which Rossis and Salomons retail for $400 new. None of them. Also, they aint any better.

r u kidding i got my rossi scratch's this years for 450 with the rossi binding. you need to learn how to go to a shop, or online and look.

well, I got my chronics with bindings for $100 flat, but that aint the RETAIL PRICE now is it clown?

The RETAIL PRICES are as follows:

Line Chronic $400

Rossi Scratch $500

Salomon Foil $550

Both skis are made in the same factory but with vastly different constructions. The only thing LINE does different on new skis is die-cut bases. We certainly do not create the same ski and sell it with different topsheets. K2s wrap all cores in a specific fiberglass strand weave known as the torsion box. We do that to keep it torsionally stiff, meaning it won't want to twist fore and aft as you are on hard snow. LINE skis use an entirely different process with a macroblock core and pieces of metal to keep it torsionally stiff in larger sized skis. Both have different geometries, flexes and performance. I find it really humorous when half of you speak out of your ass about skis.

If you have never tried a ski, don't say: "Chronic blows" or "PE sucks". If you speak with no basis or reasoning, you just end up sounding like an idiot. If you've tried one or the other, explain what you liked and what you didn't. If you've skied both, compare and contrast. Help the dude out who asked in the first place.

Do next year's chronics have die cut bases? Because mine certainly don't. Also, the Chronic has no metal pieces in it and it DOES have fiberglass wrapped in a 4 direction pattern around the core. Line calls this a "4d fibercap" instead of a "torsion box," but it sounds like pretty much the same thing. So, maybe you should do some research. Start here: www.lineskis.com

Definitely get the Chronic. I've skiied this years PEs and last years PEs and I didnt like how they skiied at all. They didnt ride smoothly at all and overall I didnt like them. The Chronics however, I cant speak for, but a friend of mine has them and says they are sick. I would say get the Chronic or Chronic blend.

hahahhahaHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

i dont know where to start with you...

firstly, youre talking to schmies, he's the guy that does all the art work on the K2 twin tips. so trust me he knows way more than you about their skis.

secondly, next years chronics have die cut bases, if you dont believe me check out the SIA 2007 page.

thirdly, schmies never said the chronic has metal in it, he said thats what line uses in some of its bigger skis. he's trying to do you a favour by telling you how line and K2 skis are constructed differently.

fourthly, 4D fibercap and torsion box are very different, even if they "sound" the same to you.

fifthly, dont talk down to people who know more than you or youll get your shit stitched
