Pe 169 or 179

Hey evryone. i am about to buy some new PE's. I am 5'11' and weigh about 140 lb. I am undecided about which size to get. i will probably be doing about 30% groomers 30% park and 40% of trail/bc stuff.

Thanks for your help.

 
179, im about ur same height/weight, and 169s would be way to short, and give u no growing room

i went from 163s to 176s in one yr, and it didnt take more than a day to get used to them. def get 179

im ur size and Im on the 69's...I have found no problems with them, but I kinda wish I was on longer skis since I am tall. Function they work great though.

 
you need to remember though, k2 measures their skis differently, so the size is really like 3-4cm over the posted length (ie. 169 would be 173cm)

my friends 5'5' and he rides 169. go for the 179's

im the same height as you, and i had a bad experience with this. you are basically in between...5'11 is in between. last season i made the wrong decision of getting the 169's, and now i am regretting it. I recently had to sell them on ebay, on a reasonable price in order to get the 179's. You dont have to make this a learnign expreience, listen to me...go with 179's

im the same height and weight and im on 179's at core center and they are perfect. I couldnt imagine myself in 169's.

same situation with the fujatives but im 150 and 6ft. maybe ill grow 2-3 more inches but i bet ill see some sweet shit by that time and get new ones by then perhaps, and my mt is a michigan one. a lower michigan one. and with the occasional trip out west, 169's seem fine, but i still worry about if i should have bought the 179's. but like there is nothing but park here, and like 20 ft table tops god willing. i can take them back still i think but they really seem to be able to get the job done at like +3

I was on 160s last year, i just bought a pair of 179 PEs and i cant wait to try em out. i am 5'10 and weigh 150. i got the 179s over the 169s because i tried my friends 180 4frnts and loved the length. go for the longer ones.

If you ride with any decent pace then a 169 is going to be bastard short! I'm on a 182 scratch BC and wish I'd picked up the 188, short skis fuckin suck

Everyone is always pushing for the longer ski. I think for your size the 169 will be best. A longer ski is less manuverable and as for speed, the size difference will be negligible. If you are looking for speed buy racing skis not twintips.

 
dude your 5'11 if your a decent skier a 179 could be short. go with the 179. iam 5'5 and i skied a 178 jermey nobis inspired and 180 ak launchers. iam skiing 174 for park and a 184 for pow. dont be a pussy and man up and ski a real ski.
