PC's parks

i just skied pc for the first time this year, and ive heard of the parks changing a long time ago, but how is that shitty early season Jonesy park supposed to turn into a premier park like reported? From the looks of it kings will be way better than jonesy, pick n shovel even looks better than jonesy and it wasn't even open.

they build the first park on jonseys because it is higher up than pick/kings and they can make more snow there. after they get the other 2 up they will destroy the jonseys park you see today and start blowing a shit load of snow. then they will build some big kick ass jumps. it will probably take a while before that happens though.

it will pretty much be the run coming off homerun. there will be an upper section that starts where the trail to get to the mcconkeys area is and the lower will start where it always starts. there are jumps in there to get people up off the ground, get things diverse for a shitty start to the season. once the other parks are open, things will start changing in joneseys.

yeah i was there today and i just didn't really get it. but now that makes more sense to me. ill try to picture it better tomorrow.

dont expect jonesys anytime soon we arent being allowed to start blowing snow till jan 1st so i t can be open for access during xmas once we do start il will be a solid week to two weeks of blowing

How's the park looking right now? me and a friend are coming the 3-5 because we don't got shit for jumps here and the open is in two weeks.

from what i've been hearing from everyone that stops and says whats up on the hill, everyone is stoked on the crown. it's not that busy either, it's just that everyone travels in packs, so 30 people will roll through at once and then there will be one or two people for a couple minutes then another pack rolls through. so just time it in between the packs

uhh i really dont know the sizes. i know the last one in kings crown is big enough to do basically whatever you want but it isnt so big that it is really scary

There are 6 jumps in the crown ranging from 25 to 72 feet. (The last jump, since it's the topic of large variations in size in this thread, is mid 40's)

Fucking so sick right now, the last jump is fun. Who was the negro in the all yellow suit? Whoever you are, dope cab 5s.

hey guys, let me know what you think of the lower rail setup. if it's good we'll leave it be if not I'll have to get in there and tweak it a bit. new rails tonight were single tube down flat down, flat up flat ledge and an urban single tube down.

ahh the flat up flat box is open now?! fuck yes, i've been waiting for that...looks like sooo much fun.

good to know everythings enjoyable so far. started pushing joneseys today, and one of our cat guys ripped a track off one of the cats...

yeah, the crown is way sweet.  maybe it's just me, but the C box seemed way sticky when i was there.

the last hit is so nice, all the hits are built nicely except for the fact that 3 and 4 are pretty tough to clear

aaaah hits three and four... there is a weeee lad on the park city snowboard that had the line down the first day. for an entire day he was the only one clearing every jump. and why, may you ask? because he didn't speed check the third and fourth. not every jump requires a speed check, i'm not by any means telling everyone how to hit the jump (for liability reasons), but count how many speed checks, even the slight ones, that you end up doing between the third and fourth jumps... i see people speed check all the way up into the lip of the jump... not really a necessary item on the third and fourth. but it all depends on how fast the snow is running. i've knuckled both the third and fourth and overshot the third and fourth... fourth into the flats. so just check how fast the snow is running and make 2 speed checks instead of the 3 you might usually make or 1 for 2 or no for 1 or whatever. Y'all have fun naw ya'hear?

yeah it isnt hard getting the speed. just like mike said dont speed check.

p.s. jonseys looks soo amazingly awesome i almost died

Coming from such a small hill I TOTALLY forgot there is a bigger park than Kings in the works. Like, I've been having so much fun on the jump line and rails in Kings, that I forgot Jonesys existed. Now i got butterflies thinking about it. Nice work.

ha ha ha, nope, didn't tear it down. we re-groomed the inrun to the third jump, third jump is by far the best jump in the line for the time being. as for the fourth jump, we went in with the winch cat today and threw about 6 feet more snow on the top of the table but our test runs came out short. as far as opening to the public, i know everyone is jonesin for joneseys but we would rather it be 100% safe then open something that isn't up to par. The deciding factor we threw out today was if skyler wasn't comfortable enough to spin a 7 over the last jump, we need to work on it. in the end, he ended up hurting himself on the test runs, so we called the test runs over and will go back in and do what needs to be done. tomorrow is my day off and i'm going to be far away from the mountain so I am not sure if they are going to open it or not, more test runs in the morning to make the decision was the word from the guys after skylers test runs ended.

i think jonesy's new table are way sick

the 1st and second have nice flow but the third scares the crap outta me

(i did see this 40something guy hit it and do a picture perfect daffy)

and the 4th is looks perf but i feel like i don't have enough speed ever

theres something in the picnic table that was loose on monday

blew my edge and ripped a 3 inches, almost core

I went and looked at it but couldn't find any screws sticking out... no metal shavings sticking up out of the metal, I don't know mang. were you the person that gave your name and number to the receptionist in the team building?

umm nope i didnt give my name and number, but it sucks...

it was on the only picnic table there on monday, and now the 2nd one i'm guessing

it happened to a snowboarder right before me, it seemed to be something on the left rail of it

no biggie to you guys but if you want to reimburse me that would be sweet haha

and by the way, WHERE DID THE PAYDAY BOXES GO? there seems to be a little bit missing after the cattrack and i miss the cbox
