yo im sure most of you have heard the rumors of pick being expanded, quadded, and lit for next year...does anybody know if these are true? this would be rather epic and make day classes far easier to go to ha ha
 
Jeremy Cooper is done from what I have heard too, they are getting the park manager from Mt. Bachelor instead. Should be an interesting change.
 
somebody told me shaun white requested them to move the pipe up where joneseys used to be at so theres less traffic and onlookers and such. i guess theyre going along with it and turning it into some sort of world record thing or something.
 
Yep. True. Lights next year. Quad the following year. And yea the person I talked to made it sound like it would be a park mecca over there.
 
as if im not stoked enough for next year already fucking alex g goes and posts this....F***K summerbut i still want i higher park though...
 
Fuck yes, next step is to leave night skiing open til 9, not 730, shits weak.

A quad on picknshovel will make it the most legit park lap ever.
 
Holy shit, my mind is blown!!! First night skiing and then a QUAD!?!? So stoked for the coming seasons.
 
. both pipes are going to be on claim jumper, and another park is going to be on claim jumper to king con on broad way. . they are going to make the mountain a spt resort, you are going to have to get a park pass to ride the parks and three kings is going to be called 6 kings and its going to be a six pack like pay day and they are going to build a taco stand at the top of six kings and since xbox is sponcering the parks next year there will be a tv lounge at the taco joint. and exxpand pick night sking will be going till 12 midnight
 
I also heard this>

The trees that are currently under and to the left of 3 Kings will be removed and all of that slope will be graded to match the current slope of Pick n Shovel.

This will make the run 3-4x wider than the current park run.

They will run a quad (not high speed quad) up the middle of the new run and light the whole thing.

Potentially will be open until 10:00 p.m. on Weekends.
 
very true statement! i can hope these things will happen. but realistically? doubtful at this point
 
oh sorry eheath i forgot that you worked at park city as a groomer and have every idea how it works. im gonna go with travis on this one, considering he actually knows something about how it works, and he knows people that would have real information instead of kids making up rumors so they can tell themselves park city will be better. i ll believe it when i see it.
 
I am going to agree with eHeath on this one.

TKA might no what PC has in place right now but that does not mean that he has any idea of what PC management is planning for the future.

You cannot say that the entire slope will not be graded (nobody every said all the way over to quiksilver). I don't know if you realize this, but First Time is entirely a graded run and is not much shorter than the grading that would be required for Pick N Shovel.

In the grading process it would not be difficult to install snow making in that area.
 
Ok Rumor Control

Sorry I have been outta touch for a while. I have been busy on the hill and busy working on the Pick n' Shovel redesign. So to clarify some of the rumors, here we go. We will be clearing almost all the trees at three kings. Some of the real steep useless tree areas will stay. You will be able to go left or right off the chair to get into the park. The park will be from the edge of the pipe to bunny hollow. It will be lit up till 9pm everynight. At this time the pipe will not be open for nights. The new chair will not be put in this season. We are adding a ton of new snowmaking. Instead of opening a park on home run we will open a park on three kings. It should be real fun! I am heading out on vacation soon but when I return I will be building rails and jibs all summer long. So that means I am not leaving.
 
I also just got an email from some marketing woman we work with for passes and she dropped the lights deal.

stoked if all these is really gonna happen cause that sounds baaanger.
 
whoops. well, we got the real world straight from coops so it doesnt matter now.

On a different note, this is a genius move by PC. I don't think i've heard more people tell me they were getting a canyons pass next year instead of a pc pass, this change will probably sway the majority back.
 
so does this mean you will be combining the big and medium park on one lift or will there still be a park on kings?
