I did and still do go to the PBP Forum a lot but i post here a lot morel. I feel its more intelligent chatter.
 
i think on the PBP fourm people are just plain stupid and like to rip up people who are just starting or dont know as much as other people. This fourm is a lot better!
 
My theory is that a lot of people (not all.. maybe not even half) of the people on the PBP forum just go to rip up people and cause shit... I mean, there're still a lot of great people on that and a lot of useful posts, but I find that people here actual take time to answer things and do it cause they want to, not to be cool or talk big or anything.

yeah i post on the pbp forum every once and a while, but this forum is way better. the people in there used to bash the freeze forum for being stupid, but the pbp forum just went to shit. way too many stupid people.
 
yeah i know, those people are bringing down the site. hey harvey, is there a way you can remove people from the members list, cause that would be a good idea... to remove people for being stupid.
 
Yeah, I can bann members, or ban IP addresses... I haven't had to do either yet though! (well, just once.. but it was a little confusion. :)... but anywho, yep, I sure can.

wait a minute... who went and made Deebo god? because last time i checked, he wouldn't know who is stupid and who is not. Just because SOME people don't know how to joke and acknowledge obvious sarcasm (ie. MOM JOKES)... don't ruin it for the people lightening up this board.

I think harvey is doing a pretty good job by not censoring people from this site. Because i think it was Stalin and also maybe Hitler that terminated QUITE A FEW PEOPLE because they thought other ppl were 'stupid'.

I mean no offense by this post or any other previous or future post, but you commi kids have to lighten up!!!!! afterall, i thought ski bums and the like were party animals.
 
ok, i don't want to be mean here or anything but Deebo just sugested that if some people came on here and started acting like asses than Harvey could and should ban them if it gets annoying. just cuz you ban someone for being an asshole 24/7 dosen't make you like Hitler. hitler also has strick non-smoking rules, so if you are against cigarettes that means your like hitler i guess.
 
i believe restricting one from their civil rights is INDEED fascist. Please don't try to argue that censorship is a good thing.

because, essentially, you are being a hypocrite when you complain that you don't get to see the full version of Showgirls, but at the same time, encourage banning harmless exchange of information.
 
Is this for real? I can't believe that some people think that members should be banned for being 'annoying' (a completely ambiguous term not yet defined by your replies). I highly doubt that Harvey is gonna ban people for mom jokes. In my mind crying about mom jokes on a forum is annoying, does this mean you guys should be banned? I don't know what you have been taught all your life, but I always thaught that censoring people just because I didn't agree was wrong. If Hitler was alive today he wouldn't be burning Jewish books, he'd be banning Jewish IPs. Not allowing people to the free exchange of information based on what you think is right or wrong is fascist.
 
not banning people for mom jokes cuz thats just fun and games, but banning people for ripping someones head off for asking a simple question. if someone is new at this newschool thing and asks what this mute grab he's been hearing about is and some guy 'mr. X' starts yelling at him 'shut the fuck up you stupid idiot, why don't you go out and ski instead of watching barney you little shit' than that person is gay and shouldn't be allowed on this website. those are the kinds of people that made the Freeze forum what it is today. and they are doing the same thing to the poorboyz.com forum. i'm not saying harvey should ban people left and right, but only those one or two people if they get lost and end up on this site. and your saying that playing the undedited version of Excorsist at 3pm on Fox is ok even though little kids could be watching? i'm sorry but a 6 year old shouldn't be subjected to brutal violence, murder, swearing, etc. at such a young age.
 
when people use the phrase 'i'm sorry but' bugs me. it also bugs me when people use the word gay to describe dislike. that's the same as saying 'that's just black'. but i don't think you should be banned for it.

harvey can ban people if they break the laws he's set up in his disclaimer; not 'annoying' people.

also, the rest of the world doesn't censor tv, yet also has half the amount of violence related crime as north america.
 
ok, first of all, this whole discussion was about emily potterski's comment about stopping mom jokes, and deebo's agreement and suggestion to ban these people who are 'bringing this site down'. What are YOU talking about.

Secondly, let's not discuss tv censorship for too much longer because this topic is clouded with too many outside factors. go to europe and watch their tv. no one is complaining there.
 
Here's the deal with banning people. I figured I'd better say my policy because people are jumping to a lot of conclusions!!

No one will ever be banned for making stupid little jokes. If they get insanely annoying, I'll ask them to stop posting ridiculous stuff.

If someone bashes people for no reason (as stated by mike_hunt10), then they will be warned not to do it again.

If they do it again, their member name will be banned.

If they do it a third time, their IP address will be banned.

It is not my intention to censor anything (within reason of course!) and as long as people follow the guidelines stated by the user agreement (which includes *RESPECT OTHER MEMBERS*) then there will be no problems!
