i dont get what movie its gonna be...does anyone know if its gonna just be about the skiers lives or will it be packed with lots of gnarly skiin'
 
Im pretty sure it's going to be the same thing as like a normal movie but it will probably be in like slow motion the whole time for effect on what the pros are saying, i think it's gonna be sick

yet another sad attempt by a ski movie company to make a film with a plot that has been done before. Ski movies are dead.... no hate, just my educated opinion

While i have no idea how this movie will turn out, its pretty evident alot of you have no idea what your talking about when you bag on PBP's storytelling abilities. Had any of you ever seen the windsurfing movie, you would know what I'm talking about.

Asian Allen, read this link, go buy the windsurfing movie and learn what your talking about before you bag a movie you haven't even seen.

I'm missing where you find that statement funny? What major film awards have you won in the past 10 years of your clearly miserable life?

I mean your always so negative, you clearly are just angry with the world, and jealous that you can't touch or even dream about doing anything remotely close. It's one thing to make a healthy criticism, its a complete different thing to judge someone elses talents or projects before you even see a finished project.

I fail to see what you contribute to this website.
 
Thats because people like me give him 8s because it is hilarious to see the hate he ensues. It is great, him and eheath are by far the best at it.
 
AsianAllen i dare u to post something positive, or not about rollerskating. dont get me wrong i come on NS and say some shit, but at least its not a constant hammering of negativity. As a fellow/former minnesotan and hyland shredder please reconsider everytime ur about to make a post. Im pretty positive there will be voice overs in the movie, thats not the point, the point is chill out, smoke a j, and realize that ur healthy and that ur apart of a great community of skiers that all have one goal to have a great time on the mountain with friends. its all gravy kid. unbreak ur heart, just like ur should unbreak those broken grinds! ahah jk, sarcasm. ONE LOVE
 
I thought yours was the popular point. The movies going to be generic and mediocre, just like any MSP or PBP movie from the past couple years.

The unpopular and unspoken point would be Jeff_Lo backing PBP because he worked for them and still won't accept the hate and criticism for putting out that piece of garbage, Yeah Dude. We get it, they put time and effort into their work. That doesn't mean it's good.
 
your more wrong. I'm not backing them because of where I have and haven't worked. I'm backing this movie because I've seen "The Windsurfing Movie" and know what the whole crew is capable of. I don't back everything for them, I realize everyone has different tastes. I'm simply calling out a statement that someone made that is completely invalid and untrue, and can't be made because they haven't even seen the movie.

Its like saying someone sucks at a certain sport without even seeing them perform.

The entire genre of new aged sports with storlylines are played. It was played 40 years ago after it being used in every surf movie for 10 years. It died with Endless Summer. You're claiming it's good because it won X-dance awards? What a joke. Bra Boys won best documentary and that movie was absolute garbage about the biggest self righteous douche bros around.

Also your logic is heavily flawed. Just because they can make a good movie doesn't mean Reasons will be good. They might have the ability, but they haven't made a good movie since 1242.
 
alright i laughed at the "we both hate minnesota" comment cause i thought it was a joke...but then i realized you were legit ripping on this kid because of where he grew up and how "he's too lazy to move out of minnesota" or some bullshit. not only did he explain to you how this was a dumbass thing to try and make fun of someone for, but he wrote a long ass post explaining WHY he's not going to move away from his community just to get some fresh pow in the mornings... and you were too lazy to read the post. so not only do you have a retarded argument going, but you don't even have the right to continue it. shut up.
 
yea, but the thing is, the trailer gave me the chills. you really are pretty pessimistic with eevry comment you make. i have a lot of respect for your skiing but lighten up man
 


Not trying to bag on anyone, but has anyone considered that this is ski movies coming full circle? If you want to pay homage to the films that paved the way for Johnny, Josh, Haveit, Etc. then consider the history of things. Blizzard of Ahhs and Licence to Thrill were the movies that were breaking ground at that time. Greg stump stepped out and did what he thought was missing in the industry at the time. A Film with human interest, but with some sicker skiing than the Warren Miller films. Then MSP came up and started filming some sick up and comers like Seth Morrison. TGR came along and asked Steve Winter to show them how to film skiing gorilla style. Although very similar in filming styles, TGR wanted to showcase a bit more of Jackson Hole. Then Johnny came along and did degenerates and 13, which exposed people to a completely different genre and filming style.

Next came younger cats with some awesome ideas like Rage, Berman, Theory 3, etc. These guys were able to showcase a different style of filmaking that showed less known, yet very impressive athletes doing thier thing. I love watching these types of movies as much as the next guy, but sick shot after sick shot after sick shot has gotten less interesting to me, because it is guilty of the same thing that people acussed the more established companies of... it's gotten old. I would love to see Poor Boyz take a shot at telling a story in a different way if they can do it. Being someone who's seen the windsurfing movie i think they can and I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. But thats just my opinion. Of course, I could be wrong

 
... then every kid with shitty goggle sags got a cheap HD camera, called their movie HD and showed park footage and b roll skiing and tried to sell it and hype it like the cure for cancer.
 
If there is voice overs, it wont matter to me. Show and Prove had voice overs, dont think many people liked it, but i did. Kind of tells a story, get you more connected with the skiers and what they're going through. Sort of.
 
nah, at least Allen has SOME explanation as to why he's so pessimistic all the time...Evan just hates and talks about how much beer he can drink.
 
yeah i saw the unofficial premiere of reasons last night and....i dunno....felt kinda let down..dont get me wrong, the was some fucking insane skiing in there... i wont say anymore. but voiceovers were corny, and boring, and long...should have just stuck to the skiing.

cant wait for turbo.
 
my friend got the early copy yesterday. i was blown away. a lot of powder in the beginning but it starts rolling after that. its an amazing movie
 
voiceovers were lame at some parts, except the Hateveits, they were hilarious. The skiinng is incridible though. and, drumroll....... i notice some creative urban.
