You can link a bank account to paypal so the money just goes straight the the bank, or you could keep the money in your paypal account and use it to buy other stuff.
linking to a bank account works but you have to wait around 5 days for the money to transfer which is kinda annoying, link a credit card to your paypal if your usually in a rush to get your money
