PAYPAL

Im 15 and i created a paypal account but i cant add funds because i dont have a Bank Transit Number, and an Institution Number. but i do have a account number though what do i do to add funds?

maybe you can mail them a money order? dont really know, if you have stuff you can sell try sellin it to get people to pay you with paypal maybe

1.) Never keep money in your paypal account. Always have it deposited into your checking account (takes about 4 days).

2.) Open up a checking account/debit card and use that number for the paypal account.

3.) People can reverse payments via paypal so wait until money clears before you ship anything.

are you saying dont keep money in your paypal account cuz you're worried about people jackin it? cuz it's a lot safer to have a couple hundo layin around paypal than it is to have your whole bank account linked to it. and paypal is pretty secure anyway no need to be so paranoid.

unless you have some other reason for not keeping money in it like if they charge you a fee or somethin but I haven't noticed anything like that...

if i'm understanding you correctly, you have a bank account, but don't know the appropriate routing numbers, etc. to set up the paypal account. i'd suggest you go to your bank and see if they can help provide you the numbers you need or talk to your parents and see if they can help you set it up with their account.

otherwise, one other way you could possibly pay is transferring money through a bank account service... like if for example, you both have bank of america, you can transfer money from your account to someone elses account. i'm not sure how secure that is in purchasing situations though.

Well you're in good hands, because Newschoolers is actually run by Paypal. Just check the searchbar for our FAQs and you should be all set. If that doesn't help, then you should probably ASK PAYPAL, or just kill yourself...

do you have any checks from your bank account? because they have the numbers you need on them.

also I agree on the not keeping money in paypal thing. I sold something on ebay, and tranferred the money to my bank account. then a week later. The guy tried to scam me, and started a dispute. paypal wanted to hold all my money till it was solved, but couldn't because It was empty.

I'm 15 too. i first had an account with wamu, then with USAA. both came with a check book. Whoever said using your parents credit card is easy is wrong. at least in most cases it's a big pain in the ass. just bug them to get you an account with online access. then you'll be set. tell them it'll teach you responsibility with money, and in life. That's what I said.

If you have more than you'd like to lose in your bank account, I'd reccomend getting a linked account to your main one and then linking paypal to that. That way, if someone gets your account info, theres only so much damage they can do. Setting up a linked account is usually free and took me 5 minutes.
