Hey guys,

I just signed up with Paypal, but I don't have it hooked up to a bank. I am not able to have it hooked up to a bank or credit card yet. I understand that I am able to receive money from other users. Is there any legitimate way to get money put in my account? I have heard of getting a Visa/Mastercard/American Express gift card, but apparently it can not work when Paypal verifies it. Can anybody walk me through putting money on my Paypal without using the bank?

Thanks

++++karma for whoever helps me out

send a money request to an e-mail other then the one you used to sign up for it.

Click the link in the e-mail, then choose to pay without an account and just use a credit card that way.

Works everytime.

If it can be used as a credit card, yes it should work. Paypal is kinda anal about their rules though, they have a lot of legal BS they need to go through to cover their asses.

Dude just go to the back and open a free checking account and use that just for Paypal if you don't want to give any inportant info.

you could always have a friend with a paypal account send you money via paypal and just pay them back in person or something like that.

visa gift cards worked for me, but american express gift cards didn't, if that helps you at all. for the visa, it cost me like 1.25 to activate it for the paypal. worked perfect, bought a bunch of stuff on here with it

Really? I've had such good luck with Paypal. Twice I have bought something from eBay, but got scammed. I was out 200 bucks one time, but then I filed a claim with Paypal and explained the whole thing. They gave me $200 within a couple days. The other time it was only like $50, but I filed again and they gave me the money I lost. I love Paypal, except for the little fee they take with some payments.

They have been nothing but trouble for me. I lost $1200 and if paypal hadn't waited a MONTH before even responding to my emails the money would have been recoverable. I did everything right and they still let the person withdraw the money and they have done nothing to help me since. They have millions in insurance to cover their asses but they don't give a shit about their customers.

i havent used the prepaid card yet, but i have money in my account. it sucks because i cant do anything with it. anybody have advice?

did you file a claim or just send an e-mail? if you just sent an e-mail, then thats your fault for not following the proper steps to a refund. To me, thats like calling the court to settle a lawsuit you have not filed.... and it does not matter if the money was withdrawn or not, paypal can and will pull it from the scammers bank account or charge it to their credit card if you are found to be right

i have had nothing but great experiences with paypal, just like the guy before you said. I have had multiple refunds given, never taking more than a day or two after filing a claim.

Everything was done right. Reports filed. Emails sent. Transcripts of our conversations. Other people who were scammed by the same person contacted paypal. They haven't withdrawn the money. Have you ever had a problem like this? If you have, you'd understand my frustration. It's false advertising. They make it seem safe but they don't do anything to help the customer at all. It's ridiculous they're allowed to continue operating like this. There needs to be some legit competition instead of them controlling the market.

i understand the situation, but have not been in it. Paypal has always worked for me, and I have always felt my money was safe, but I have also heard horror stories. It sucks to lose that much cash, especially through a supposedly legit sight. For me, they have helped when i needed assistance, I hope i never have to have the feelings you do towards paypal. and they do control the market completely, even moreso after ebay bought them and made the two go hand in hand....... even though they still pretend there not
