Hello all fellow Newschoolers. I am a paypal noob and have not set up a account because I dont have a credit card.

First question- Can I make a paypal account without using a credit card?

Second question- Can I just hook it up to my bank account instead?

Yup, you can hook a checking or savings account to your paypal account. you just have to add the account and then paypal puts in 2 small amounts and you have to confirm them so that they know it is your accounts.
 
yeah, you can do it. i'm not exactly sure how to because i use a credit card, but i'm positive.bump for you so somebody can explain where the button is.
 
Yes you can directly link your bank account to paypal.

Once you sign up and everything, hover over 'profile' and then click 'add or edit bank account', and should be pretty straight forward from there.

However, beware, it might take a few days to transfer funds to your account because it has to clear like a check. (correct me if this has changed, i haven't done direct payment in awhile, been using credit card).
 
yes, all you have to do is click add bank account and then enter the account number and the checking number, you just need to have a check to see the numbers or they may be in your online bankingit takes 3-5 days to transfer money back and forth but you don't need a card
