so i just went to check if i had recieved a refund from a fellow NSer and saw that there was an attempt to transfer 300 dollars from my bank account to my PayPal that happened earlier today. so i basically freaked and called paypal and had them freeze the account and mark the withdrawl as unauthorized. tomorrow im going to call my bank and have them freeze that account as well untill this is all figured out.

im pretty sure this is all because my computer recently ended up with some sort of spyware trojan or virus and the only way i know this is because when i would log on to any sites that required a password they would show a page that said my computer seemed as if it was infected and it wouldnt let me on.

so basically what do i do from here? any free way to clean out my computer because im on the verge of entirely wiping everything from this piece of shit.

greatly appreciate any help.

You did the right thing. I wouldn't make anymore transactions until you get a new harddrive or computer.

u dont need a new harddrive you can just reformat but i dont know what kind of information you have on your cpu that is important

I have had a similar problem on my computer. Hasn't been as bad today but still pretty annoying. I get redirected from links on google and sometimes it takes me to this page saying its scanning my computer, but looks really fake. About to fix the problem.

malwarebytes.com

its the best free virus scan out there. look it up on C-Net for reviews if you want first.

i have a shitton of my files backed up onto a portable harddrive but im afraid that they might also be fucked, so im going to take my laptop to a tech guy and see if he'll wipe and reformat it for me.

who fucking puts out this spyware, scum of the fucking earth.

i wish i could shoot that bitch in the face for even trying to get ahold of my money.

its like the shit thats on my computer now doesnt want me to go to that site. redirects me or says internet explorer cant show this page... bullshit

It's gonna take a good amount of work and time to get that trojan off your computer. Don't bring it to Geek Squad or something, they don't do shit.

yep. the popups have stopped though.

before it was relentless, now i think it wants to create the illusion that the trojan is gone so it can steal all of my account info from various places.

im so pissed. this is going to cause so much trouble for me all because some scumbag nerd faggot thinks he can write a program to steal peoples money. as i said before, i would pay to beat the fuck out of the person responsible.

throw all the documents you need on a flash drive or external hard drive scan them all for viruses then reset you computer to a previous state

i feel your pain. i had the same exact thing. its hard to get off your computer. the regular malware scan doesnt cut it. i think malware has one that you can buy if you can even get on the site. otherwise go to cnet.com and look it up and it will recommend the most up to date version to get rid of it.

i had to bring my computer into the IT guy at my job to get it off and it took him a whole day.

well, i got malwarebytes downloaded and installed but when i go to launch it is says it cant find the specified file

any ideas?

malwarebytes is the best, i run that and a symantic antivirus that the corporate norton that isn't norton, i mean without all of nortons bullshit and doesn't slow my computer down.

so when i go to install the virus/malware/trojan whatever it is immediately deletes the file mbam.exe which is needed to run the program.

how can i fix?
