Payment question

earlier this winter i bought a track jacket from some kid from scranton. i mailed him 20 bones because i didnt have paypal. the envolope never reached him because either someone stole it or i just got lost. now he wants me to send him 20 more dollars. i dont think this is fair because i sent him the money and it isnt really my fault it got stolen or whatever. I have good feedback and i swear i mailed the cash. how should i deal with this problem?

did u receive the hoodie and if so, he was taking the risk of mailing through the mail instead of paypal, just my 2 cents

he has received the hoodie, and at first i insisted on paypal but he said his parents would not allow him too so he had to use the mail.

you could have refused but it seemed like you wanted to get rid of it. so its partially your fault. i know its also mine but i gues if i was trying to offload some thing for 20 bucks and the persons cash got lost i would just forget about it and give them the benifit of the doubt. i mean really 20 bucks for lrg that probably cost more than 80. thats a deal i only would give if i didnt want that track jacket.

its your loss man he shouldn't have to give the jacket away for nothing, seems stupid to me, just cuase your money didn't get there doesn't mean he has to just give his stuff away. since it was only twenty bucks I say just take the loss and start up a PayPal account to keep it from happening again.

i sort of agree but i have no way of making money im 16 and i dont have a job and my parents dont give me money for clothes or skis or anything the only way i get money is from christmas and birthdays and odd jobs. in otherwords im broke. not broke like i have 100 dollars lying around like broke like i dont have an money at all.

either make a paypal or use a money order next time. In situations like these it is impossible to tell if someone is lying or not. I would say it's your loss though, never send cash though the mail. lesson learned.

sounds like a good time to get a job?? and if you only have 100 bucks then i wouldn't send 20 of it out in an envelope. Not exactly the smartest idea

i know but im in school. and i said i dont have 100 dolars lying around i said i had no money at all im gonna have to withdraw money from my bank account for college to ship this guy what ever he wants.

did you put cash straight in the envelope? so if you held it up to light you could see that there was money in there?

tough call on this one. i like people to send me cash or check so i

dont have to deal with paypal fees...but this is the risk you run. i

would probably say that the OP is outta luck. definitely take travvs

(sp?)advice a few posts up. think of this as a learning experience, dont send cash to strangers...and if you do make sure it is somehow insured

well its pretty simple send him the jacket back or send him the 20 bucks, only this time send it as a money order like u should have done in the first place. it is kinda ur fault for not taking the correct precausions and getting the money order the first time. not to be a douche, but shit happens. hes right now getting skrewed out of a jacket, sooo it unfair for him too.

you should agree upon a sum of money less than 20 dollars.

Also next time, you should put the money in a card or something, not a thin piece of paper.

A little cheap advice - if you EVER SEND CASH, send it with a delivery confirmation, so you can always tell if it got there.

Pt. II - by the time I was 16, I'd been working for 4 years. GET A JOB. Prior to that, I'd been doing odd jobs around the neighborhood - mowing lawns, painting, whatever... Quit being lazy and get your ass to work.

Pt III - seller shouldn't send stuff without some kind of payment - just sayin'...

you can still see through a piece of paper, just like you can see through an envelope. A card is much thicker, so its harder to see through.
