Yeah I don't get why people keep saying he's gonna be somebody's bitch in jail. He's a professional athlete, he gets paid millions of dollars to lift a lot, I think he'll be able to take care of himself
 
I mean he coached in the SEC and now he coaches at OSU obviously he is a cheater in both discipline and recruiting

Not to derail this thread, but its absurd that the Pats take a salary cap hit on this. There should be a clause that if you commit a felony, you can be dropped period. No cap hit, nothing. You shouldnt be guaranteed your salary if you freakin murdered someone.
 
Orrrrr there were signs that this kid was a dumbass all along. Got busted for weed in college and fell to a much later round because of character issues. The pats took a chance on a athlete with poor character and it paid off for a few years. Unfortunately he was as dumb as they said and its costing the pats now.

That is like saying people who violate the substance abuse policy and miss some games shouldn't count towards the cap. The fact of the matter is you sign a player and you have to take into account what he is going to do while he is a member of your organization.

 
I totally agree with you. It was a pretty honorable thing for Pat's organization to cut him out right though. They could have kept him on the roster until camp and cut him when he was a no show and saved 37 mil. They don't put up with any shit, and there are not a lot of teams in the NFL that go about their business like that.
 
Whaaaat???? This is way different than testing positive for any drug. How you could predict this kid was going to be a murderer? Because he smoked weed in college and had some bad connections as a teen? Who hasn't smoked weed in college? Who hasn't had a friend or two that they should have stayed away from? No one would predict that this fool was going to be a murderer.

The NFL is a shitshow that allows this stuff to continue to happen regardless of trying to portray themselves as this family friendly organization. How long did it take Plaxico Burress & Michael Vick to find teams once they got out of jail? Ray Lewis...c'mon now. Those arrests since the Superbowl have included a few marijuana charges, DUIs, abuse of a CHILD & now murder charges by two different guys. It's disgraceful.

I'm telling you this Hernandez thing is only going to get bigger. This kid is fucked in the head. There is more that has not been released yet.
 
Football is a violent game played by violent men.

You have to have something wrong with you to play TE in the NFL and a complete disregard for your own safety. That mindset and behavioral pattern will follow some off the field.

Hernandez thought he was untouchable. Looks like he got away with 3-4 strait gangster things. Dude aint no fake thug.

BUt this wasn't his first body. Probably why he was so dumb about it and reckless since he was a celebrity who had done the same shit and got away with it like this '12 double murder and shooting his boy outside the club.

I love Hernandez he's the man I really hope he beats this charge.
 
What I was going to say. Im not talking misdemeanor substance abuse charges = dropped no penalty. But felonies, (murder, rape, what Vick did) should be able to be dropped no penalty to the team. Its not on the front office to make sure dudes dont murder a guy. In any other career hed be fired, and wouldnt get any pay other than for what hed already worked, he wouldnt be guaranteed a years salary.
 
Several teams reportedly wouldn't take him under any circumstances because he had gang relations and was consistently in trouble. Of course no one could predict he was going to murder someone, but the patriots took a huge risk drafting him. If he wasn't a huge risk, he would have been drafted in the first or second round no question. That is why they should still pay the cap hit for cutting him.

And you want to know who didnt smoke tons of weed in college? Almost every other damn player who got drafted in front of him.
 
you people realize there is something called protective custody that they will put hernandez in with all the pedophiles and shit and hes probably gonna be sitting alone in a cell 24 hrs a day, hes not getting raped or gonna be raping anyone
 
really really disappointed when i heard about this last week.

I bet no one cares but a kid on my old hockey team's dad coached and taught Hernandez in high school. after he was drafted in the NFL he found out that a kid was being bullied at his old school and came and told that kid to keep his mouth shut or they would have a problem. Always thought of him as a good guy before this.
 
idk the guy was the second best tight end on his team and is going to be there for life, I doubt he's gonna get special treatment the whole time.

The contract clause everyone is talking about is called "a failure to perform clause", but for some reason it wasn't in his contract. It exists, they didn't use it, fuck them.

Also, that trying-to-be-ghetto rant supporting Aaron Hernandez up there is so pathetic you can't help but feel bad for the guy who wrote it
 
I guess it runs in the family. his brother D.J. was the head coach of our schools football team and got us fined and put on probation for 3 seasons because he used a lost play book from a rival team during a game
 
i kinda hope he gets off these charges, murdering someone and getting away with it is the key to the super bowl as ray lewis showed us.
