Patriots vs. NFL

Im tired of all of the we dont have to cheat to win bullshit pats fans are throwing around. Of course you dont have to cheat to win. You have walked in to the playoffs over the last decade not because Belichek is a gridiron genious, but because you play in arguably the weakest excuse for a division in the NFL. Your offense is talented, no doubt. But it also hasnt been tested either. You have three top 5 defenses left on your schedule, which is more than enough chance for you to blow you homefield advantage in the playoffs to either pittsburgh or indy. This week will be an interesting game between Peyton and Brady. Should make for some fireworks. However, New England fans need to realize that this is the first game where the opposing team has been anywhere near a playoff caliber team. If you happen to skip past the colts and ravens, you will still have the touughest matchup of the season against the Steelers and there 1st in the league rushing offense. Your rushing defense often leaves much to be desired and the steelers defensive package will come as a huge shock to baby moss and the rest of your wide outs. In my mind it would take one hell of a miracle for you to pull a win out against Pittsburgh but im sure you have some bullshit to prove me wrong so lets hear it homers!

Please know a little basic backround on the game of football before posting in my thread. thanks.

are you from pittsburgh? just curious, cause i am.

anyways i really think the steelers have a good chance at beating the pats. i think they are a little better then you are making them out to be though. it won't be a "miracle" if the patriots beat the steelers, that will be an extremely close game. i think the steelers are gonna be really pumped for it though and in the end pull it off if ben and willie have a good game. colts and patriots, i think patriots will win that one just for the fact im gonna say the patriots have a better defense then the colts which that game will come down to. as for the ravens that will also be a close game but i just don't think they have the offense to beat the patriots even if their defense holds them to a touchdown or two. in the end i think the steelers are gonna have to stop the pats from going 16-0 this season, i really hate to say that though.

AFC championship game might as well be the super bowl this year, the NFC sucks like usual. so pretty much whoever wins the AFC championship game, will win the superbowl. unless they lose their first and second string players. ((sorry NFC fans, but you guys suck))

You're both wrong. Detroit is going to win it all...

Haha it never gets old...but ya, I think the steelers really have a good chance again this year. I think that the Pats vs. Colts game will be the deciding point in the season. If pats come out with the victory, I think there is a chance they could go undefeated all year (god I hope not). I've been a huge steelers fan my whole life but I dunno if they'll have what it takes to stop the Pats if they have the momentum after beating the Colts. We'll see though.

yeah man thats what i'm thinking too. but i really think if ben has a good game not decent or okay but good, we will come away with the win. oh and fuck you tom brady, faggot. i had to say that, sorry.

close to playoff caliber? Excuse me... the patriots beat San Diego already, and yes this week will be a true test, Brady is on top of his game right now and has so many receivers to choose from, we will see what they pull out sunday vs the colts, but im sure it will be a very tight game, im sure if the pats win on sunday, many people will quiet down about the "over-hyped" Patriots

just because i read this thread, i hope this game and every game they play for the rest of the season is a blowout. it wont be the best season to watch, but you are dumb. The chargers and cowboys are playoff caliber, and the jets made the playoffs last year. by the way, the steelers lost to the cardinals, they arent playoff caliber, and dont have any wins over teams better than the pats have played. the pats blew out 3 of the teams the steelers beat.

undefeated season? i dont think so, but i hope it happens

none of pittsburgs saftys or cornerbacks are over 6 ft tall, any jump ball in the endzone belongs to moss who is 6ft 4 and has a ridiculous vertical

Tom brady has all day to throw the ball because the pats O-line is amazing, hes thrown 30 td passes and only 2 int's and is only averaging 1 sack per game

and its ridiculous to say they havn't played any playoff caliber team, i'd say dallas and san diego both quailify as playoff caliber and both got shit stomped by the pats

roethlisberger has half the td's and three times the Int's brady has, its no contest

willy parker only got 37 yds against arizona earlier this season, arizona allows 108 yds per game on average, you can bet that belichick is going to watch that game tape and see what shut parker down

forgot about the cowboys being in the NFC...

but really, how the steelers play depends on ben. most quarterbacks don't have "shitty" games, they might not have a good game but they usually don't suck. ben either has a great game or a shitty one, i mostly think its because he is younger. if he can grow out of that soon, i think the steelers will be good for a long time.

does anyone remember when we destroyed the cowboys? get your popcorn out...

washington, top 10 defense in the league, put up 52 on them.

everyone of our backs has been banged up at some point in the season so our running game has had no chance to get going, we've been the most one dimensional offense in the league and we're still dominating. now that maroney is healthy the offense isn't gonna be stopped, not by pitt, not by anyone.

oh yea and our defense is giving up a whole 2.9 points more than pitts d a game, doesnt matter too much when youre scoring 42 a game.

who the fuck has pitt played thats good? the best team youve played is cleveland.

suck a dick, the pats run the nfl.

this is what im trying to say, the cardinals beat us because ben played horrible. if ben is playing horrible of course they're gonna stack the line so willie can't destroy them if he turns the corner. oh and we will see what happens when the steelers and pats play...don't worry it will be a good game i can assure you all that. cause if we're losing, im personally shooting brady mid-game.

thread maker, obviously u are a newb of tremendous caliber, so let me hit u with some stats. it is obvious u are a bullheaded dumb motherfucker, but that aside if you look at the teams that the pats have played, they have already played san deigo, playoff team last yr, jets were a playoff team last year, washington top 10 d, Dallas playoff team from last yr also one of the top teams this yr, and cincy who was a very legitimate team last yr. The schedule makers dont make the schedule and know which teams will be bad and which will be good. Pats D is flying under the radar and is a top-5 defense. The fucking steelers have no chance in hell of beating the pats. Bellicheck will tear apart Big Ben with his schemes and the pats line backers will eat him for lunch. Stop bitching about the pats u ignorant fucker... yes we are that good.

oh wow...honestly there is no team in my opinion that can match up with the patriots...they are simply unstoppable...and i hate saying that because i have always disliked the pats, but that team is amazing.

Tom Brady, is magnificent i mean sure he is the one they always talk about but just take a look at that offensive line...that is the key to all of their success because of the time tom has to look at multiple receivers while in the pocket he can just tear apart defenses...then you have randy moss as their number one receiving threat then when teams start to key on him brady just throws the ball to welker or stallworth. the patriots are so good they don't even have to run the ball (everyone always says you have to have a good combination of both to be successful) HELL! how often does brady take a snap from under center? RARELY!...he is usually in shotgun with one running back and 4 receivers...teams know that they are going to pass the ball and they still can't stop it...and you can never count out laurence maroney cause he will run your ass over if you aren't ready. Also that defense can shut teams down so fast look at the redskins last week how well did that offense do against the pats? that was ultimate shut down.

Now for this week it is the patriots and the colts, which in all cases should be a very good game between two undefeated teams...but in this case i don't see the colts standing any chance even if the patriots have lost the last 3 out of 4 times in Indianapolis.

just my 2 cents.

First off, I would like to make it clear that I am a Pats fan and would usually side with one in an arguement. But....

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU CALL THOSE STATS?

But thats besides the point.

Brady Worthlessberger Difference of:

TD 30 15 15 (Brady)

Yards 2431 1533 898 (Brady)

Psr. Rating 136.2 102.2 34 (Brady)

Team record 8-0 6-2 UNEFEATED (Brady)

Championships 3 1 2 (That is a lot of championships) (Brady)

And as for the Pats playing teams with a suck ass defense, check this out - The Steelers have played a grand total of 1 team with a top 10 ranking in points allowed per game. The Patriots have also played 1 team witha a top 10 ranking in points allowed per game. In those games, the Steelers lost by 7 (against Arizona-non contender) and the Pats won by 21 (against Dallas-contender).

WHAT NOW! BRING IT INDIANAPOLIS AND SURE AS HELL BRING IT ON PITTSBURGH!!!

Whats being in a weak division have to do with having eight wins? Cause its not like they play the other three teams in their division over and over again and they have already proven to beat some playoff caliber teams like the chargers and they will continue to own this week against the colts. Probably not 52-7 but more like 38-27 or something like that against the colts.

Please know a little basic backround on the game of football before posting in my thread. thanks.

????? you know NOTHING about football

and correct me if im wrong but the pats would have made the playoffs at least the last 5 years in ANY division?

well im a pats fan...so far we havent had that much of a challenge but we destroyed SD and held of the Cowboys...SD was supposed to be good but they havent dont much and Dallas is defenitly a contender so its not like we havent played anyone hard....and the game with the most hype vs the Colts is this week so why dont u wait and see...Fuck the Steelers

do you know what yuppie means?

and you really think about im worried about shittsburgh? im willing to have this ns account deleted if the steelers beat the pats....

The patriots are going to beat the steelers hands down, it might be close for a little while, but I don't see the steelers matching the pats at all.

Patriots are good, but i wouldn't put them in a league of there own until they face competition other than NFC "playoff" teams. The only team in the NFC that could challenge the pats, or any top tier AFC team for that matter, is Green Bay because they have a good secondary and Favre is god-like. As for the Colts, Manning is by far better than Brady. Have you seen Brady's touchdown passes? they're either short routes that turn into long gains or 50 yard prayers that Moss made happen. It should be a good game on Sunday.

Yeah, thread creator. You are trying to make an argument that you cannot support in any way shape or form. Every time an NFL teams steps on the field, they are getting tested. These are the biggest, strongest, fastest, most agile people in the world. Any team can beat any other team at any time.

peace steelers, looks like theres no-one to stop us now, only questions left are if moss and brady will both get the td records, or just one of them gets it. i thikn they both do.

first half, equal

second half, DISTRUCTION pats didnt let the steelers score, thats impressive and that double lateral was the sickest play hands down

IDIOT!

never speak again. they have the JETS, DOLPHINS and giants left.

it would be very unlikely for them not to go undefeated

and yeah never speak again you claimer

Pats wont go undefeated...they'll lose to the Dolphins. I'm just sure about it.

BTW what must the odds be that the bookies are putting towards that game...

ahh...i love all this talk about the pats. being from new england, its so nice to be able to watch the pats win and everyone else make threads about how they arnt getting tested and how the packers, colts, chargers were gonna beat them. the point im trying to get at, stop the bullshit. if the pats loose, then talk shit. until then enjoy the ride.

For some reason, the quote button wasn't there, so allow me to copy and paste

"...and the steelers defensive package will come as a huge shock to baby moss and the rest of your wide outs. In my mind it would take one hell of a miracle for you to pull a win out against Pittsburgh..."

Correct me if I'm wrong but Tom Brady threw for 399 yards and "Baby" Moss just barely managed to squeak out a measly 135 yards and an absolutely pitiful two touchdowns. Call it one hell of a miracle, but we shitted in your face by 21 points. I'll be damned if you and Anthony Smith ever attempt to make a piss poor prediction again.

What do u got to say now dumbass?????? the patriots have been in the top 3 teams in the entire AFC for the past 5 or 6 years. you have no idea what ur saying, that faggot safty that garrenteed a win last night got pwned on 2 times for 2 bombs, a 58 and a 45 (or somewhere in that vacinity) yard TD's. if the pats play the steelers again in the playoffs, ill put any amount of money on the pats to win again.

by the way just cuz were in a shitty division doesnt mean we aren't challenged. We still beat teams consistently in the play offs not just to the play offs.

I'm still hung up on the baltimore game though, there was a big play in the 4th quarter where the officials failed to penalize an illegal block made by the Pats...

yeah last year we lost to the dolphins once and we lost to the bills in the first game of the season but like 30. so that kid has no idea what hes talking about.

LOOK HERE FOR EXPERT ANALYSIS

jk but i have good points

let me start by saying that i dont mean to be an asshole

that said, i think youre really stupid/ignorant or youre just biased against the patriots

go ask any NFL analyst with any clue of coaching and they will tell you that bill belichick is one of the greatest coaches ever. since he started coaching, the patriots have gone through a complete turnaround. we won 3 superbowls in 4 years. belichick also disciplines players very well. never do we hear about a case where there is an argument in the locker room or a player that committed a crime. rodney harrison and randy moss have both been disciplined very well, and now they are some of the best team mates in the nfl.

our division is far from the weakest excuse of a division.

from 01-06, our division records are as follows:

year with patriots without patriots

01 41-39 30-34

02 35-29 26-22

03 36-28 22-26

04 37-27 23-25

05 28-36 18-30

06 35-29 23-25

as you can see, our division is not weak at all. we have an above average division. if you want a weak division, go look at the nfc west. our division has also sent teams to the playoffs in the wildcard in the past 5 years

wildcard playoff teams besides the pats:

01-dolphins(11-5), jets(10-6)

04-jets(10-6)

06-jets(10-6)

the dolphins were 10-6 in 03, but failed to make the playoffs

furthermore, we only play 6 games in our division a year (8 in 01 because there were 4 other teams in the division) in our playoff years, we have not swept our division.

on top of that, how do you explain us winning the superbowl 3 times in 4 years, getting past the wildcard week in 05, and nearly going to the superbowl again in 06?

in this 07 season, we have been tested several times. i know you wrote this before the colts game, so ill use examples from before that. the cowboys were and still are the best team in the NFC, probably #3 in the nfl after the colts, and we blew them out 48-27. we also blew out the browns 34-17, and the bills 38-7, and the chargers 38-14. when we played the redskins, they were one of the better teams in the nfl, and we steamrolled them 52-7.

you also have to realize that when you wrote this, the steelers had lost to arizona and denver, two of the less than average teams in the NFL. now why would you possibly think that the patriots would need a miracle if they have won every game by 21 or more pts and tom brady had threw at least 3 td's in every game, to the steelers?

you should do some research before speaking, because i just proved you wrong in every statement you made

nothing but a little good natured shit talking. excellent argument tho. i dont believe that any division in the NFC can really measure up to the better divisions in the AFC however.
