listen i know it happend a couple of days ago, but i just got to thinking about how this season is going to be LIGHTS OUT in the NFL. Now the patriots have john lnych and rodney harrison 2 of the most feared safetys in the NFL and oh yeah remember all those records they broke last year? that was the first season moss, welker and brady played together. good luck to all you patriot haters, il be standing on Tremont street waving to the cameras come the parade in february.
 
yeah, not only are they gonna be the best team in the NFL, they are gonna have the motivation to dominate after losing to the "fabulous" Giants.
 
the pats will be all right this year.... they lost some defense, gained some d but i doubt brady and company will have the same season they did last year.... now manning on the other hand is due to have a big one, now that Harrison is bak in all.... but point being the pats blew it last year and wont have another almost undefeted season.... or a complete udefeated season... look at past superbowl lossers they blowed the next year.....
 
how is lynch going to help the pats? Hes old and washed up and played shitty for the broncs last season. Good for him that hes a hard hitter but how is he going to catch all of the young tallented wide outs hes going to be going up against.Belichick for some reason does not like young tallent he just likes vets. Having vets on your team is a good thing dont get me wrong but you need young fresh players also thrown in the mix. I am a die hard giants fan so i guess i dont agree with anything the pats do but in my opinion hes gonna be a big mistake.
 
And also how can you claim being a pats fan when this happened days ago and you just now posted it in NSG in caps like you were the first one to know about it
 
you mean like saftey brandon merriweather and linebacker jerod mayo? the pats first round draft picks in 07 and 08. Both are complete beasts. merriweather knocked a guy out cold when he played for miami and mayo was an absolute truck at tennesse. And cornerback ellis hobbs is only 25. so dont you worry about Belichicks defense, theres plenty of youth mixed in.
 
I'm pumped for the patriots this year. I'm 100% confident that our d will be better than last year wiifh better corner play, a healthy defensive line that's arguably the best in the NFL, much better and younger linebackers with mayo and crable, and then obviously an improved secondary with lynch. Anyone who thinks lynch will have to run stride for stride with receivers is dumb, belichick is not stupi, he knows lynch is old and slower, but he'll play him to his advantages which are inteligence and hard hitting. Our offense is going to be on par with last year, same o line with better back ups, much better running backs who are healthy, and a year of experiance for Brady moss and welker. And not to mention the best coach in the NFL and the easiest schedule. I'll be surprised if this belichick team gets less than 12 wins.
 
belichick is NOT the best coach in football... ya he may be smart, but then every nfl coach knows a thing or two about the game... no the thing that makes the best coach is sportsmanship and being honorable..... lets see sportsmanship now i might be wrong on this but wasnt bill belichick the one who left the superbowl early because he loss, even if it was only a few seconds?? and.....ah.... honorable well im not an expert and all but wasnt it his team who was caught taping the new york jets defensive signals????? now saying all that i will agree he is a good coach but he is NOT the greatest coach in the NFL....thats Tony Dungy.... and having the easiest schedule does nothin but make you worse by the time you get to the playoffs..... i HATE the pats!!!!!
 
Honor doesn't win you superbowls. Bill bellichick is a huge asshole, I won't deny that, but he is by far the best coach in the NFL. It's not a fluke that the patriots are consistently good and the best team in recent history. Bill builds his team for sucess in the present and future, and always has a plan for everything. I could spend hours talking about all the things that set him above everyone else, but here's just one. In the draft we had the 7th pick, the jets had the 6th. Gholston had but written all over him, we never would have drafted him had he fell to us. Instead we trade down for mayo who will be a starter from day 1, and a serious contender for ROTY. Belichick made a point of bringing gholston in and making mangini think we were interested, so they draft him with thief 6th pick, we trade down and get mayo and a guy like crable who will be great this year.

i never said all time..... but he is the best one right now... record wise ( i dont know numbers off hand) , personnel wise rob meeks, howard mudd, tom moore, hes got bill polian and lots more... hes a defensive coach so for the offensive as dominant as it is, thats sayin a lot.... he can put rookies on the field ( last year quinn pitcock, ed johnson, and some otha rookie i cant think of) all at the d tackle spot and they a finished above average in that position.... and hes a humble man.... now give me reasons y belichick is or isnt better than him cause deep down inside you now dungy is better!!!! oh and how many books has bill wrote that have been top sellers????

yes, it is a retarded statement. What makes a coach the best is his (or her) winning percentage. Its really the only concrete way to compare coaches. Honorability and sportsmanship don't have numbers attached and can't really be compared.

oh and just to set you straight on tony dungy, the colts play artificial crowd noise during the games to make the RCA dome louder while the opponent is on offence. not so honorable anymore is he...

thank you! I get so pissed off at how the media jumps on the pats when we videotape and it has 0 effect on the game. The colts have been accused on multiple occasions of adding artificial crowd noise, yet nobody cares because the colts can do no wrong.

I'm a huge pats fan, but I don't hate on the colts, I respect them because it really is hard to be good year in and year out, and the patriots and colts are the only two elite teams in the NFL that are always in the mix (recently with belichick and dungy).
 
ya because dungy had so much to do with the audio during that game???? first of all i remember that game and i dont remember that happening..... second of all the in game/stadium audio that you hear on tv is never as loud as wat the video sounded and third ive been to colts games plenty of times and it never sounds that loud granted i wasnt at that game but still....even if this video was REAL u cant say that playing fake noise is worse than delibritly spying on the otha team if it was just practice or during the game....

oh and if your confused about the "ya because dungy had so much to do with the audio during that game????" i was being sarcastic, thats the dumbest thing ive heard, blaming the coach for something that MIGHT have happened up in the multimedia room.... thats retarded!!!!

ELLIS HOBBS is gonna have a filth season, but i dunno how good the other corner will be now that were without asante samuel. ill be surprised if we get under 13 wins. ill give the colts and chargers and the steelers a win against us, and even that is a HUUUUUUUUGE stretch. ill be expecting at least 15 wins, but i wont be surprised nor dissappointed if we get under.

Now if i'm reading the incoherent vomit you call a paragraph correctly (which I like to think that I am), your claiming that since you've never heard that particular skipping noise either on TV or at a game, that it doesn't exist and if by chance the colts actually do "pump up the noise" it has no affect on the other teams offensive production.

Both of the these statements are incredibly inaccurate. First of all, I seriously doubt you were listening for inconsistencies in the crowd noise while watching a colts game, especially not sitting at home. I'd also like to mention that it must be very difficult for the offensive line to hear the signals with 55,000 people + the "artificial noise" bouncing around the dome. As you know, its pretty loud in there. Advantage colts.

because we were the best team in the NFL last year, and predicted to be the best this year too. winning 18 straight was mentally and physically draining for the patriots and put way too much pressure on them, and on the last game they just didn't have it in them. Couple this with a miracle play and several dropped should be interceptions that would have ended the game, as well as an outstanding performance from the giants defense and a terrible one by our offensive line and you get a 3 point margin of victory for the giants. Everything that could have gone wrong for the patriots did, and everything that could have gone right for the giants also did and they only won by 3 points as a result of a 1 in 1,000,000 catch.

The patriots were the best team in all of the NFL last year, no way to deny that. Unfortunately, the giants were the best team on Sunday.
 
i'm sorry but the pats weren't the best team in the NFL. let the records show that the winner of the superbowl were the new york giants. the superbowl winner is considered the best team in the NFL. sorry. and come on now, you aren't playing that card are you? they were tired from winning. oh no! sorry but losing 18 straight and winning 18 straight are JUST as physically and mentally tiring. and if they can't handle the pressure of winning, then maybe they shouldn't do it. i'm sorry but those aren't good excuses. yeah, things did go wrong in the superbowl but a GREAT team would be able to overcome those bad luck things and make the plays it needed to win. now...truthfully, yes the patriots were better than the giants but like you said, they weren't better when it counted. which is all that matters. i hate both the patriots and giants, so there is no biased opinion going on here.

during this heated debate, i would like to point out that New England will play the Giants in their fourth pre season game next thursday. The patriots didn't put Brady in at all in there first two pre season games so far (hence there 0-2 record). I would LOVE to see Brady play in that game and show the Giants no mercy.

I just wanted to chyme in. As a die-hard pats fan I know and struggle everyday that pats lost the superbowl.... I didn't "forget". Now onto this season, the pats are going to come out on fire ad motivated because now they have something to prove and frankly, they're fucking pissed off. Similarly when "Spygate" happened last year. What happened? LT ran his mouth about how we were cheaters and what did we do? Seau, Bruschi and the D line fuckin kicked him in the teeth and was held to under 100 yards rushing. Anyways, in New England we don't forget, we move on and fuck u up.

nobody forgot, i just got over the fact that we lost a couple weeks ago. i couldnt watch anything football related for months after feb 3, everytime espn would show ANYTHING about football i would shut the tv off and focus on the celts and sox. i assure you nobody forgot, whatever doesnt kill you only makes you stronger... remember that. were coming out with a vengeance this year.

and its almost like everyone forgot that since 2001 the pats are the best team in the nfl, edging out the colts, who are my 2nd fav team...

wow a personal attack on my credibility because of my screen name and the fact that i disagree with your views of football? you patriots fans crack me up! how old are you?

anyhoo, i just dont see the patriots being the powerhouse they were last year, and john lynch isn't going to bolster their already old and slowing defense... if anything he is going to be a huge liability in pass coverage and their secondary is already suspect after loosing asante samuel. who is their number 1 corner.... ellis hobbs?.... he's a nickle corner at best. Their d-line is going to be top-notch, but with an older, slower linebacker corp (other than jarrod mayo who will no doubt be a beast), i just dont see their run defense being the greatest.

obviously their offense is going to be potent but teams now have an entire year of footage on them, and thanks to the giants know that the key to slowing them down is to get pressure on tom brady (not necessarily outside pressure, brady steps up in the pocket well, but panics when he faces pressure from the middle).

will they win the afc east? probably, they do have the 2nd easiest schedule in the nfl (playing the phins and jets twice a year sure helps)

will they make the superbowl? i doubt it. their defense just doesn't match up well against the more potent offenses in the AFC (INDIANAPOLIS)
