now the govt is making schools give information on every student including adress and social security...for recruitment purposes...i just got a letter from our school saying what they have to do

-let people do what they want, ski how you want, make whoever you want your role model its your choice

-i love to ski, so should you, its fun, try it sometime

-thats what the internet is for anonymously slandering people-jason lee

the patriot act is such an obvious invasion of the first ammendment. they created it to protect us against terrorists, but their isn't a real terrorist threat.

yeah, because the goverment really cares about what you look up on the internet (unless its an alqaeda site, or kiddy porn).

i do think the goverment is overzealous at times. but, when you want the goverment to take care of you from the cradle to the grave, at want handout, and everything done for you, and given to you, you gotta expect loss of privacy

well if you look at the patriot act, then look at what cutbacks the government has taken from homeland security, you don't really see a point to the act. its just a bill that was passed to make the people feel like the government cares about them .i'm not saying they don't care about us, but right now, the bush administration cares more about money. think about it. why should you be allowed to have 4 books of matches and 2 butane lighters on an airplane but mothers have to drink breast milk to prove it isn't poison. i think someone, like cigarette companies may be paying/pressuring the government into letting pepole keep their lighters and matches. its all about money these days.

Read the fine print. You can submit a non-permission form signed by yourself and your parents. I believe that your school district is breaking the law if they don't provide such a form.

DO NOT give any personal information to the recruiters, even if they say it is to 'remove your name from their list.' If you've seen Fahrenheit 9/11 you know what I'm talking about.

Also, you supposedly have to register for selective service when you turn 18. This is technically true, but if you believe killing is morally wrong, you can register as a conscientious objector. This has been a viable route since World War II but of course the military says nothing about this because that would mean less cannon fodder for them.

my bro is a conscientious objector. I will be too once I am old enough to be worried about the draft. Unless of course they start drafting 15 year olds which is entirely possible
