I've been thinking a little bit about the attitudes towards weed smokers lately. A lot of people consider people who smoke everyday to be pathetic or low-lifes or whatever. But how is smoking weed everyday different than skiing everyday, or skating everyday? it's another hobby somebody likes. Some people like it a lot and like to do it everyday. How is this pathetic? Even if all they think about is weed. Let me compare this. If all someone thinks about is skiing, draw pictures in class of skiers, talk about it, the whole bi, they are seen as passionate. Why is it that stoners are called pathetic when they do the same thing, only for a different activity?

But what do I know? I'm just a skeevy stoner.

I dunno man doing drugs isn't really a legitmate hobby. You can really get better at smoking pot, it takes no skill at all. Theres nothing wrong with smoking pot but people blow the 'weed lifestyle' out of proportion

 
because unlike skiing, which is generally good for you (shure there are potential injuries) there is nothing about it thats good for you. its just fun.

Growing good pot takes some skill and you can improve at it. So I'd say growing is a legit hobby.

^ I'll agree with that, although growing boomers is much more difficult. If you say that smoking pot is a legitmate hobby then so is drinking beer. And if you consider drinking beer a hobby then you also have to consider eating food and drinking juice a hobby and thats just bullshit

 
no music is definatly different. its an artistic expression, and creativity stimulates the mind. plus playing instruments builds coordination, and all that other crap.

^ that's pretty objective, though. and a lot of other hobbies dont build fitness or anything. and im sure you don't ski for the fitness aspect of it. im sure you'd still do it if there was no physical fitness in it.

^^^ chemicals effect every person differently. In this case it may actually benefit the person, but in most cases it doesnt. Rolling is another skill in smoking. And on another note, I smoke and do things all the time. I may smoke and work out because I find it funner that way, thats a physical activity.

I've played guitar for 6 years. I love music more than I love skiing and drugs combined. I only pointed out that it doesnt have any physical benefits, but is an actual hobby. and sorry guys. i got bored with my name. i didnt know the mushroom was gone. its back.

over time you get crafty at rolling blunts and joints, you can learn french inhales and killhits, you can go to the extreme and learn to blow your own glass pieces, so yeah...i disagree.

i definately have nothing against it at all, i light one up every now and again, but when you see a person that revolves there whole existance around weed and just becomes a lazy burnout, that is a pathetic stoner, my towns full of kids who have dropped out of high school or college, live at home, and work only partime to support theyre habit, i dont care what you say thats definately a pathetic existance

i smoke weed 3-5 times a week. i'm a high honor student and a varisty soccer player. weed is about as harmless as sugar. its not addicting but you love it and its not really good for you but it won't kill you.
