Patellar tendonitis after acl surgery?

I got Acl surgery using my patellar in April last year. all in all everything went well. recovery, training etc. How ever now i have this weird pinch under my knee cap when i ski or do exercise.

Looking for tips on how to make it go away, if skiing with one is bad, and if any of you have patellar surgery and how it went along!

thanks guys and girls.

I believe I deal with Patellar tendonitis, it sucks. I've had it for like almost two years now, but stretching, ice/heat and strengthening have helped alot. But could be something else if your recovering from surgery, not sure about that.

I have chronic tendinitis in my patellar tendons from just skiing...if it's not too bad, it should go away in a few weeks from therapy and stretching (primarily hamstrings). Check with a doctor/physical therapist.

Unfortunately mine hasn't gone away, so I'm looking to get PRP injections in a couple weeks. I expect yours should be more easily treatable though if it's just a "weird pinch" as opposed to being painful all the time which is where I'm at right now.

You might look into getting a diclofenac sodium prescription from your doctor as well, that helps with mine some.

ACL is known as the major stabilizer of the knee joint. There is an increased chance for this ligament to get torn during rigorous sports activities. The standard form of treatment for the torn ligament is to have a surgery. The surgeon removes the middle section of the patellar tendon below the knee cap.

I think you are interested in skiing, which causes stress to the ligaments. Patellar tendonitis is a serious musculoskeletal problem that must be taken care of. I too had the problem of tendonitis and I had to undergo a mesotherapy treatment (http://www.pinewoodhealth.ca/servicedetails.aspx?ServId=34e5d5af-6253-4276-b1bb-0303803c0c89 ) from Toronto in order to find a solution to this problem. The results were immediate and I was totally happy with the results. Why don't you give a try?

I had patellar tendonitis from running before I blew my knee, then I had patellar graft acl reconstruction and haven't had any problems with it since lol

I used to just ice it a shit ton and try not to overwork it. maybe pick up one of those ice compression braces with the ice packs that you pump up.

I can't offer too much help, but I had the worst patellar tendonitis from skiing when I was younger. It got to the point where I couldn't even walk down the steps from my bedroom to the kitchen in the mornings. Doctor "prescribed" me 800mg of ibuprofen 4x a day (a shit load), but that really helped reduce the swelling and pain, ultimately getting rid of the tendonitis. I recommend trying this. I have since grown out of the tendonitis (knock on wood). I would think that as your knee continues to get stronger, your tendonitis will go away.
