do you have to get a passport now if im gonna go to tremblant in january? thats pretty weak if this is true, used to be a birth certificate and social security card, now im gonna hafta pay out 95 bucks for another form of id.

Right now, you just need your birth certificate and driver's license (social security card doesn't count because it's not a picture id).

However, if the US forces Canadians to have passports to cross into the US (which they are currently planning on doing), then Canada will likely do the same to the US. That shouldn't happen by January though.

yep, jan. 1st 2008 but it makes it way faster if you do have one. also by 2007 they will probably tripple in price because everyone will wait untill the last minute to get one.

You need a passport to get in the states by January. Getting into Canada is pretty easy, but soon you will need a passport.Thank terrorism and paranoia

last time i went to canada was w. a french trip and my class had to wait in the hot bus while i sat in the air conditioned building for an hour while they tried to figure out my russian passport...good times good times

when i went to canada they really didn't ask to see anything. just a driver's license. this was three years ago but, that sucks you need a passport to go over there.

uhh you can get into canada by just driving over the bridge, no stopping or nothing.

its getting back inot the US that you need 2 forms of government ID.

i went last year and took my liscence, and birth cirtificate. also had my SS card with me jsut in case.

you need 2 forms no matter what to get into teh US. soon a passport is needed.
