Don't knock masturbation... it's sex with someone I love.

from talking to some people and meditating/praying about it I have a couple different ideas about what the baby means. I'll post them later though as I have a meeting to be two in about 3 minutes...

Amazing movie however.

its gonna be propoganda to make christ look appealing. I did read that comment about mel gibson making it true and all but I mean its hollywood. c'mon....

I am pretty pleased to read all the people coming out and saying the movie makes them appreciate what Christ did for them... that rocks. I guess this post is geared more towards the people who are saying that. Remember that being a Christian is not just saying a prayer and you're fine, it's following Christ in everything. Christianity is not a prayer... it's a way of life. If this doesn't pertain to you, then disregard it, but for those Christians that read this, look up Revelations 3: 15-16.

About that, Mel Gibson payed for all of it, and Hollywood had almost nothing to do with it. It's probaby better that way because otherwise, Hollywood would have changed things. Mel Gibson also did a TON of research, trying to make everything exactly like in the bible, so that it is accurate.

yeah, too bad the bible isnt accurate in the first place, but thats a whole other thread.

Oh, please do lower your speech to my humble level, oh great and intellectual one, for I am unworthy to bear witness to the truths you speak! Since I am clearly your inferior, you must write in very lowbrow terms or I'll never understand. --JD May

yeah i agree with trunks, its a way of life, not a hat u put on when u need some insight

well i thought the movie was very powerful. It was really hard to watch at times and yes it was very graphic but i think gibson did that to show how horrible it really was, if it wasnt all hollywooded up, we would have no idea what jesus went through and how much he loved us....defintly one of the best threads on ns.com and im glad to see people taking such an interest on this topic....awesome

sorry if offend anyone:

I found that movie as about as entertaining as a b-rated movie (and I really like b-rated movies).

Now seeing the movie from a relgious standpoint, it is a powerful and moving experience....but from a film point, it is a waste of time. As a very non-relgious person, I found that movie to basicly just show a man getting pummeled for about an hour and a half. Only reason he is killed is because he said he is the son of god.

I agree with you all in the sense that the story can be moving, but for it to have any effect, one needs to have a connection to it.

I just found it stupidly entertaining.

i finally went and saw it this weekend. my christianity professor has been complaing for quite a while about the inaccuracies in it. i mea sure they show that jesus was nailed thru the hands (which he was actually nailed thru the wrists and the image of being nailed thru the hands by medieval christian art) along with what the cross (actually looked more like an x), and that they were speakin latin (which i guess they should have been speakin something else, i think greek, but i could be wrong).

but i dont think that mattered too much. it got its message across and really let people realistically know what jesus went thru for us.

also, it is hard to interput facts from the bible, the gospels that is, when you look like for instance palm sunday, what did jesus ride in on? a donkey? two donkeys there? a donkey and a colt? or an animal. matthew mark luke and john tell it all differently all just small facts like that, even tho its the same story.

i wanna see it. looks like a moving move. i dont care if people say its awful. anything about christ is alright to see. even if its porno...wait, scratch that.

Its Siver not Silver!
