Whats the best party school within an hour-two hours to a mountain?University of Wisconsin is a sweet school with a sweet campus but is it near anything worth skiing?Same thing for University of California,Santa Babara,but how close is it to the mountains?The campus at Santa Barabara is amazing.Bozeman seems like a good bet,but is there anything to do when there isnt any snow besides party?

 
what about fucking colorado, dude?!?! you got denver, skiinmg, hiking, swimming, skiing/boarding, rafting, clubs, bars, parties, great skinny dipping places, climbing, umm horsebackriding... jesus...

 
CU-Boulder is a huge party school. but seriously any college is a party school, unless it is single sex or religious or something. don't worry wherever you go there will be good parties, I would situate yourself near good skiing.

 
UCSB is super nice. UC davis is pretty close to tahoe though.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

PLYMOUTH STATE! haha in like the early 90's it was the number 4 party school, but now its not quite but still pretty awesome. and that area has everything. hiking, biking, climbing, skiing soo sick and all within 20 mins drive

Just some advice... you shouldn't really base your college choice off the partying or skiing. More on how good the college is and if it is good for what your majoring in. It really sounds like your going to fail out your first semester and suck at life.

my cousin went to plymouth state lol. yaaa he said it was a pretty big party school.

and uvm is def a huge pot school. its my number one school too.

UVM is hot girls and alot of partys, i dont go there but the times i have been up there its been nice. I live off campus at Green MT college and i have never been to a party there and been to partys at UVM.

 
SUNY Albany is the number one party school in the US...and theres skiing by there too.

yeah i went to boulder for the skiing and scene and its dope, I don't regret it for one second. Having a decent engineering program was also a factor though...

 
right now the main ones im considering are

Colorado University-Boulder

Arizona State-Tempe

Wisconsin-Madison

maybe Unviversity of Utah

Ive been the Wisconsin and Utah and they both have kick ass campuses,as far as partying goes i know wisconsin is much better.

There not near the best skiing but Penn State was ranked number 4 in the country for party. Indiana was number one.

first of all-UMASS is def up there. Plymouth is tiny lil school for hippie partyin potheads-UVM is a big pot head school. Lets be honest must people who are into skiing-REALLY into it DONT party at all and thats just not their scene. Thats UVM is a great skiing school. Penn State is a huge party school but it lacks SKIING severely. Suny is big i hear but it isnt that close to skiing either. AT Umass mt snow is hour, killy 1h 45m, and there are 4 other colleges all within the 15mile radius-Hampshire if you like drugs, Amherst if you like good $$ prep parties, Holyoke and Smith is you wana get laid anytime b/c they are all girls. And then Umass has everythin you want all together. Plus the whole scene is dope.

actually, you can get a good education at any school. if you go to a university and get a degree, that's good enough for a lot of careers, so why not pick one where you can have a ton of fun/go skiing lots? school is just school. but still, it IS good to go to some university; it gets you places.

 
Hey dude i go to UCSB and HIGHLY recommend it. Not only is the social scene incredible but also we have a ski and snowboard club as well as a team that travels and practices at mammoth. Mammoth is about 5 hours away so its a good drive but the school makes it worth it.

on another note up in northern california is CSU Chico which is a big party school and about 3 hours from all of tahoe (i believe). UC Davis is also a great school about 2.5 hours from Tahoe. All the bay area schools arent that great for partying but are still great schools.

ive also heard that boulder is a big party school and hell its in Colorado. thats what i got for you dude, let me know if i can answer any more questions for you.

yah like people said, dont just pick a school based on partying, location, or skiing, i go to UVM i like the area and the scene but i didnt consider majors when i decided to go there, big mistake... now ive got a few ideas but of course with my luck uvm doesnt offer much of anything in my interest areas, so now i have to decide whether to transfer, which is a lot more stressful than picking a college for the first time. so just make sure you consider everything before you act

how far away is arizona state from the nearest skiing?mainly taos,salt lake city,and maybe the arizona snowbowl if its close enough.the campus at arizona looks amzing,and the tuition isnt bad at all.they also have all the majors i want.also what is a good grade on the psat?sat?act?thanks for the help

anywhere in colorado... check out cu boulder and colorado state- but boulder is better school-wise.
