My area sucks we have no park. If they built one what would it need.

I pitty the fool who don't use 1-800 Collect.
 
It depends how much room and snow you have...For a good, small park i would get about 4 different rails, One big and One small table, a spine, a hip, a quaterpipe and if enough snow and space a halfpipe.

hmmm...i think a decent halfpipe is essential..iv seen resorts with no park..or a pathetic excuse for one..but they all have pipes..and started with pipes..so start there and build up!

yeah, if they dont have alot of snow to work with go with around 3-4 rails, one tabletop, one his?hers tabletop, a spine, and quarter pipe.

if your working somewhere or trying to convince them to make a park, suggestion would be, do not make anything out of dirt and put snow on top of ut, the only exception would be for a table, cause you can always make a good transition and landing out of dirt and you dont have to worry to much about hitting it when grooming a jump in the winter, but it is so hard for a hill to maintain parks that are pre made out of dirt.

Get a few tables, at least 2 rails, and some medium sized jumps. My local park has three shitty jumps and three rails. A good park should definately have a quarter pipe though, and if the resort is big enough a half pipe also.

i dont know why you guys would suggest a park to start with a halfpipe? First of all pipes take hours and hours to build and alot of snow too and if your resort is like mine they wont want to waste all their snow on a pipe. And you have to buy a pipe dragon to groom a pipe and those are hella expensive so i doubt a resort that never had a park would do all that. Id just try to get them to build oyu a couple tables/hip/spines or whatever with the snow cats then put up a couple rails.

 
hey d-spin..im not saying they should..im just sayin that i have noticed that A LOT of places with no park have a pipe..so they obviously see it as the place to start

I think Mauii is right, my hill had a pipe two years before their sorry excuse for a park. It was basically changing all year but 3 different rails, one table and a spine. At other times in the year there was a Qpipe and several other small hits.

 
i dont know i know of alot more places that have shitty jumps up but no pipe but most of those are around teh mid west area. A pipe i think takes alot more time and effore then putting up 2 tables

In jackson the started out with a regular pipe and no park, then the next year we got a pipe and one big table and one rail. Then last year they move the pipe and had a park with four jumps and two rails. Then this year we got a really nice 16ft super pipe, a three jump park with bigger hits and three rails,one really sweet a-frame rail. So it just goes to show that Jackson Hole mountain resort thinks a really nice pipe is better than a good park.
