parkour/russian climbing/free running/urban climbin, are all basicly the same sport, but their all awsome. My friends and i have been trying it recently. I scaled this cement wall that was about 15 feet tall with one 3 inch handhold/ledge thing. I had to run at it jump off the wall, grab the little hold do a chin up put my leg on it, than grab the roof and repete.

have you guys ever tried this sport or watched it? i no it sounds kinda dumm but try it a few times and it is crazy. i allso rock climb and boulder too.

Just be very careful... I see many kids just jumping off things with no training how to land...

Ninjutsu students have done this stuff for generations, would be wise to take some sort of Tai Chi or Yoga and learn to control your body before you go doing backflip landings and ruining your joints forever.

the parkour headquarters for the us is like 20 minutes from me. one kid at my school does it and he jumped down a light well and got suspended for 2 days. he has a coach and everything

Very cool. I have a few friends in poland who are really into le parkour, some who came to train in japan.. many have a background either in ballet or some form of martial arts.. serious ones anyway. They can do some amazing things!

idk about parkour, but i basically just like to climb and do flips off shit, would that be parkour? i dont like run up to it, jump up on it, do all crazy shit, i just like do backflips and mistys and shit off stuff. and to the kid above, how do u land the right way? is is just u land and do a front roll out of it or something?

in the scene in casino royal where there running threw the construction site the black guy i believe is the founder of parkour. i may be wrong though. anyways thats a form of it.

im more into the uncontrollable urge to spin off things while wearing shoes.. much more relaxed, jokes, and fun. me and my buddy do it some times when were board. we made an edit a few years back

I know a lot of people practicing the sport of parkour, I even tried myself at it last summer. (lol)

Parkour is not really the same thing as free running and other acrobatics, my friends insist a lot on that. Unlike free-running, where the goal is to mainly do tricks, flips and aerials to express your creativity, the Parkour's goal is to get the "traceur"(person practicing Parkour- it's a sport with French roots) from point A to point B the fastest way possible in an urban environment. Parkour has a lot of philosophy in it and it can be compared to a martial art to some point.
