Park skis for a tall rider

It looks like I'm going to be spending most of next season in the park. And 189 Seths are the smallest ski I own, so I figure I should invest in an actual park ski.

I'm 6'3" 190 lbs

BC jibbing and big mountain background

Very aggressive

West coast conditions

70% jumps

15% rails

15% pipe

I've been riding my old Seths as occasional park skis the last two seasons, but I'd like something a little lighter and softer, but still long enough to be stable on large jumps. I was thinking about Walls, but worried they'd be too stiff. Anthems have been recommended, but I think they'd be too short. What do you bigger guys ride in the park?

184 urban triplets are long and soft, but might be too soft for you

189 kung fujas maybe, more of a do it all ski with a 95mm waist, might be too similar to your seths

These are the longest skis that I could think of, along with the walls that you already listed. Other than that almost all companys make park skis around the 181cm length. I'm 6'2 and 175 pounds and I skiied 181cm scratch fs wrs (same as ghettos or s4) and they were fine. You can also take a look at armada ar6's, everyone who rides them seems to like them.

I was actually going to recommend the Walls. I think you would do well on them. They don't butter amazingly, but they are perfect for everything else, and considering you said you do 70% jumps, that is where they kill it best. The 186 Line Blend isn't a bad choice for your park ski either.

I'm 6'2 and about 220 lbs and I have 08 blends in 186 centermounted for park and there sick. Should work great for you

I'd agree with Walls, or maybe even Bridges. Both are decently wide/stiff to take your size on jumps. You'll want a stiff park ski because you jump a lot and you don't want to wash out a lot.

Personally, I'd think Blends with a 100 mm waist would be too big of a park ski. You're a big guy but you said you wanted something light, and they may be light, but not as light as a skinnier park ski...

Ah hah! Another reasonably sized person lookin for park skis!! Haha! Yeah man im 6'3'' and Ive got the same problem,

Ive had a pretty good look through the 09 skis already and the longest ive managed to find are:

Volkl wall 185 (not a true 185 though... volkl end up measuring a bit smaller)

4frnt MSP 187

4frnt STL 183

Zag mutant 185

Scott punisher 191

Scott P3 184

Amplid C7 185

Elan Partisan 185

Blizzard the reason 185

CoreUPT candide yard 182

Atomic urban punx 184

Atomic punx 182

K2 kung fujas 189

All of these should be pure park skis so are about 80-90 under foot.

Ive been riding the 185 walls this season and I gotta say they are a real nice ski. Apparently others have had problems with them though like bindings rippin out.

Hope this is useful for you. Gimme a shout and let me know what you end up going with sometime and how theyre goin for you!.... it might just help me to decide what to go with this season

^^^ oh and theres also the atomic thug at 192. Granted it is 120 underfoot so a bit wide for a pure park but its also fully symetrical.

I'm 6' 3" and 180. I ride 178 anthems. they do just fine for me, but I lkie a soft ski... and I do mostly jumps too. and yes, I hit 60ft + on them.

I'm similar size as you...Ride the same skis, people say they don't hold up on big jumps, thats not true if you stick it every time....But if you land backseat they will wash out most of the time. Especially on anything over 50 ft.

Sorry for dub post, but I think the walls would be good for you in 185, they are pretty stiff, but for jumps that is what you really need.

Look at LINE, Elizabeth would be too small (0ne size and it's 172), but a Blend, Anthem, Invader, or Chronic will probably be your size.

susepcts would kill for the type of skiing your doing.im jsut not sure if they come big enough, and unless you want this years skis dumonts rip in the pipe (08)

I'm your size. 181 Scratch FS WRS are serving me well right now. Walls would be good or 181 Armadas. No-one makes big park skis, you just have to deal with it.

Your only other option is to go up in width slightly with a 189 Fujas or 191 Punisher.
