Park resorts in Europe

I am a UK skier and have always skied in Whistler and I'm doing a season there this year.

My question is what are the best European resorts for park skiing?

I love Whistler but the visa is a real pain and I don't have that issue within the EU so want to do another season somewhere that I can progress my park as I've always skied big mountain in Whis.

The meribel airbag is decent, but not much more than backflips etc. If you go 3 valleys, go to meribel because it is pretty chill without the dumb courchevel gapers.

Some other cool places to check out: Tignes has a sick park, hosts x games so its super legit, probably won't be too expensive here either. You can also ski over to

I shred in Verbier, it's a super awesome place but really expensive. Park is OK, but off piste is insane.

I guess it really depends what your level of park is. Probably if you are pretty good then only places like tignes or meribel would be good enough for you, but if you are just starting out with park there are a lot more places to consider.

The other thing I'm considering is going to NZ South Island as I could fit it around university times. My park ability is very minimal (landed my first 3 last holiday). I'm naturally a big mountain skier

Hmm well I can't speak much for anything south of the equator as I haven't been there, but if you want to ski in the summer and still have something more than a 10m^2 glacier, that would be your choice.

Another sick spot I forgot to mention would be LAAX, it has an insane park and a sweet place to learn stuff with super tramps and foam pits. There are also a few places in Austria like Mayrhofen, but I can't speak of that with any experience because I haven't been there.
 
Honestly I don't think France in general has kept up with the level of parks in the rest of the alps. If it has to be France I'd go for Espace Killy, legit terrain and two pretty fun parks in Val d'Isere and Tignes. Problem in France is that the parks often open really late.

For me, Switzerland and Austria is the place to be for parks. Laax is unrivaled, but can have a douchy snowboarder vibe going. In Austria you have a lot of great parks. Serfaus, Mayrhofen, Absolut Park, kitzbühel, Kitzsteinhorn, Hochkönig, Planai, and those are just the bigger ones. You have a ton of more medium sized ones that are just as good, just not as big.

Zillertal is a good bet if you wanna be somewhere fairly central, with good terrain and the possibility of lots of jobs. But Austria is easy to get around in, so you can explore as much as you want.

In Italy check out Livigno for a crazy jump line.
 
Yeah the DC park is sweet. In France I think Tignes, 3 valleys and les deux alpes (more for summer) have the best parks. In Switzerland, laax is the bomb. Pretty much all big European competitions for ski or boarding go down in laax. In Austria, mayrhofen is the big one but places like the stubai glacier are also sick. Austrian resorts in general have good park setups if you want to hit up multiple resorts (and there's quite a few multi resort passes for separate regions there). Also if you're in the UK then hit up Dome freestyle nights for sure
 
Cheers for the great and massively helpful response. Hopefully after a whistler season my goals will be different but I want to get an idea of my options when I can't get a Canada visa

If you're a big mountain skier, basing yourself out of Austria, more specifically Tirol, might be the best thing you could ever do for yourself. Get the Tirol pass for 700 euros, and you're good to ski 70+ resorts, including some of the gnarliest back country terrain you'll find anywhere. And a bunch of very good parks.

those are my fav parks without a doubt!

special mentioning of the stash park in avoriaz which is super fun but doesn't really count as a real park imho... (ps flachauwinkl also has a burton stash)

I've just finished 2 years in Whistler because my Visa ran out (Also from the UK) :(. I'm thinking of heading to Tignes or maybe Morzine for a few months spring time as they both had good parks from what I can remember. Just need to find some cheap accommodation though, I'm thinking maybe Bourg St Maurice or Annecy as the valley towns seem way cheaper.
