Park report for Bristol Mountain

This idea of a park report was tossed around it site gabber so i decided to try it here. Whenever anyone goes to the mountain just update the status of the park or if there are any other decent jumps on the mountain just tell about them...

soo ill start-

bristol mountain as of 1/1 = no terrain park, but some tiny jumps on meteor and galaxy...from the looks of it a pretty crappy terrain park is in the works, but atleast itll be something if they ever open it.

i keep hearing that the pipe will be open next weekend (1-10/11)...they've been blowing tons of snow up there and it looks amazing. it looks like they're also working on a few hits on morning star. but i guess we'll see cause they've been saying 'next week' for like a month - see yall down there

 
I heard they were ditching the idea of a terrain park and the pipe wouldnt be open till Feb. I hope I heard wrong.

hell yeah i checked bristols site this is what is side under conditions -Super Half Pipe Mid Day opening- thats means its opening finally

no shit...someone said it opened sunday but i was there all day and it wasn't. i can't go down ther til friday and we have that mogul comp all weekend but i wanna get over there and check it out. if anyone goes down during the week lemme know how it is!

wow, that don't look very super to me. My mom went today and was the first one on the pipe when it opened and she said the walls weren't much bigger than the old one. But it's a lot longer, the qp looks real nice though. Im going tomorrow(wednesday) so I'll tell all yall what it's like

 
i guess we're gonna have fun getting maybe 2 hits out of it. With those walls, its gonna be hard to get speed.

yeah i defintely thought it was gonna be bigger than that...the walls were huge and now they're like nothing...i have a friend who's a ski patrol and he told me they're gonna put a few rails in which is sweet...they should also have a few hits up by this weekend. i can go down thurs now i can't wait to check it out

i think he means that there is only one good hit in the pipe. i hear the 1/4 is steep. good to hear they are geting rails

I was there today(wednesday) and they dug the pipe out a lot so the walls were a lot bigger than before. It was really soft and there were a lot of decent hits on each side with good vert. you can get 4 maybe 5 big hits in 1 run so it's cool. I was able to throw big safteys and land a few cork 7's and actually the pipe was good enough to land big zeros on so it's nothing to be disapointed about in my opinion, at least compared to last year's pipe. peace out ~Kyle

OK i was there Thursday night. Both pipes (1/2 and 1/4) were closed because it was 'too soft'. They are supposed to be open tomorrow.

Other than that there was a few small hits, they sort of looked like spines. And there was a bigger spine (not very big at all) that everyone was just clearing and using as a table. There was also like a dropoff jump (dropoff to flat to landing) that wasn't very big. And then finally there was a little kicker that sucked.

My friend Jimmy (a snowboarder) did a double backflip off the quarter pipe (even tho it was closed). I was freaking insane.

They've got a small rail up. It's a double round rail, it was kind of tilted cuz Bristol sucks. The mountain is also a little icy.

I went to bristol for the first time this weekend, I liked it. Your park kinda sucked, the rail was decent. I was impressed with the pipe, actual vertical walls with some good height, better than I've ever seen at HV. The mogul course was real nice too.

I was there this weekend and they had a 10 foot rail, tables that werent tables at all and they half pipe sucked. They are makeing a bow and on monday moring they are groming there pipe.

i emailed them asking if they are going to get any more rails and they havent replied yet...ill probably be there 2 or 3 times this weekend.

today 1/18 it wasnt that good, in the begining two tiny tabletops some people were thorwing 3s and 5s off one of them. then a crappy table with no lip...then another crappy table with 3 alternate take offs and no lip.....theres a space in between the rail and the jump now so its a little harder.

the pipe was pretty good and q/p was crap.....they need to really get someone in there that knows how to make jumps

i just got a replie to my email they said there guna get a 40 foot rail...they didnt tell me any details about it though

Bristol must be one of the stupidest places around they need to make real tables and real rails. Stupid people are geting hurt on that rail cuse they think they can do it, some girl tore her ACL cure it looked easy some with the jumps people think they can do them so they land on ice and get hurt.

 
yea ive seen alot of people fall bad on that rail ....i did once but it wasnt anything serious.........i got another email back from bristol and apparently they have a 'larger rail' that they just put up in the terrain park...i will be there tomorrow so i will report back

i was there today and the new rail is a pretty big flat to down...also there was a lip on the main table on the far right side finally...also they made another table right after the main one pretty good i guess...everything else was the same

how is the pipe? how long is the new rail? is it like short flat to long down or is it even lenghts

the pipe is pretty much the same its been, the tables were better than usual and the flat part on the rail was just a little longer that the down...it reminded me of the one at blue mountain thats in the video of the festival.

ya today everything was pretty much the same except that there jumps werent that great for tricks cause either you got to much air or u didnt get enough. But the pipe was sweet, o ya and they put a lip on one of the tables and it made the table (jump) much better!!

 
i was at bristol 1/25...they had a kinked rail...all the lips were fucked up...or nonexistent...1st/2nd jump > all the rest ^_^...dunno...the pipe just feels like a longer version of lasts years...but thats just my opinion

the lips suck, and the landings are so icey. I don't think it's bristol's fault for the lips. It's all the motherfucking little FUCKS that can't do shit. get the fuck out of the park you little pricks.

yesterday (2/15) was really good. They built up all their tables and the landings were actually pretty soft for most of the day. The park was like this: the top had rollers then into either a 60 ft. long 6 ft. high spine or the double barrel rail. Then it went into a 15-20 ft. table (hard to get a lot of speed to hit it) then into two 20-25. ft. tables next to each other which was also a very nice transfer. Then it went into the table pictured above. After that you had the choice of the kinked rail or a 25 ft. table. The pipe is getting crappier every week but the tables were the best I've seen them ever at Bristol by a far shot. Their park in my opinion is better that Swain's now. Hit it up. Peace ~Kyle

 
for anyone who cares......bristols park has gotten icy.....ill just go down the whole thing i guess...........theres the mounds in the begining (they build a lip on the last biggest mound) then, to the right is the spine. then after that is the 15 foot double barrel rail... then a choice of 2 tables both are fairly small....the a table with 3 take offs and a gap thing down the middle....then another table with like 4 take offs ( the landing got really icy on that one) then you can either hit the single kink, or a table which has gotten really crappy................next the halfpipe.. the last time i was there were like 3 nice hits..especially the last hit on the right wall.....they took down the QP and build a good sized table., but you have too pretty much bomb the pipe to get enough speed to clear it....thats all, and yes if you are wondering i do have to much time on my hands............

omg it was soo sick friday and sunday (3/14 and 3/16 respectively) i gots a nice goggle tan. plus i was there cleaning everything up on saturday so it was all good. landings were nice but there are 2 lakes on the hill. One under the triple hit and under the one jump next to the kink. runways were a lil slow.

 
Unfortunately i think this was the last weekend 3/23 for the bristol mountian terrain park. it was very sloppy up there. oh well, i'll probably be seeing you guys up there next year.
