Park rats?

Never heard the term myself till this season. Don't mind it however. Has anyone been called a park rat before or is familiar with this name for those those of us that ride in the park?

a park rat would be someone who is always in the park, even on a pow day. if someone calls me a park rat i get pissed off.

i get pissed too.

people think cause i ski east, i must be a park rat.

i hardly spend any time in the parks (i ski PA......=/=

cause most of the time, you can get batter air off of the moguls and side ditches than half of the "jumps" in the park....

you've never had park rats? stupid things burrow holes in your jumps and wreck landings, stupid pests

they sometimes eat through chairlift cable too, so be careful

well then no offense ur park must be ablsolute shit cuase i ski on the east and my park is straight up skrillin mid winter its sick

wow that was kinda stupid
but when people call me a park rat i just go slay some moguls with them. (and im not in the park much fyi)

im a park rat cause at my home mountain there is no pow or real moguls and plus the park is so sick

if anyone calls me a park rat, they deserve to get knocked the fuck out.. i ski like 60% all mtn...

yeah word dude im always in the park unless i wanna practice riding switch down hill but otherwise im comstanly in the park even during summer skateboarding i get called a park rat im always there everyday

iv never been called one, if someone did call me a park rat id probs just laugh it off because well i only ski park unless theres pow, or on the rare occasion i just go do groomers and just mess around the whole way down them

ive heard it lots but i dont think ive ever been called one

plus i wouldnt care if someone did call me one. they can think whatever they want

fuckin park rat

im always in the park mafuckers, its just a normal run....wtih jumps.. so why would i not be there

exept pow days

I ski park about 75% of the time I ski, I really only leave the park for a few cruising runs per day or on pow days, but I have absolutely no problem with it. Its how I have fun so I really don't care if people call me a park rat, but labeling someone as such is pretty dumb

yea i never really went to the park all this season just on the more complicated terrain and stuff then i did go a few times on the last days and i was pretty decent i could orbit boxes and throw 3s and grab 1s so im going to try and focus mainly on park next year unless its a pow day

When your mountain has an elevation of 400ft and the runs are a min long at most and you have an amazing park what else can you do?

But on the only "pow" day(1ft of new snow) in 5 years there was NO ONE in the park

haha im in ontario there was one day we had like 2 fett of powder and i couldnt get to the hill i was so pissed all we have is park

When I used to live in MI, our best was a former landfill. Our park suck balls too, but I spent most my time there.

now take the midwest and divide the natural snowfall by about 5..

welcome to the southeast. I have been circumstantially forced into becoming a park rat.

Nah I ski both about half the year and you guys get more snow, except places close to a great lake, but I feel your pain as the souteast seems to be gayper central.

in december and january when the snow is fresh im about 30 percent park in march and april when the snow is crap 90 percent park

wats a park? my mountain sets up a shitty one starting, say, december, but it is never good, cuz when there is any new snow, the park crew is slayin pow turns. so pretty much we never have a park. only the little park was open on the last day of the season (april 31)

im in the park everyday unless theres pow then i go shred trees

but everyday i get at least one run out of the park

From 9 am to 10 pm i lap the park 5 outta seven days till they close but i live in ny and thats all there is on my bump

but to your disbelief, gore has some of the best natural terrain in the northeast.

im in the park alot, but ocasionally i head up for a bump run. i almost never skip the park just to take a groomer all the way down, because over 1/2 the skiing to get from lift to park back to lift is like that.

and on pow days ill be in the park for maybe 3 runs?

unfortunately most of this is going to change when i get a job in park crew next year.

The term has been around forever I think...
I'm definitely not a park rat, ski steeps and pow whenever it's good.
Doing a run through the park on a pow day is so much fun though, sliding boxes with inches of pow on top then landing in it is pretty amazing. Same when they don't groom the landings on those days, it's basically a BC booter.

word its epic as long as the in run is cool so you don't case which still isn't bad in the pow pow

yeah i will never skip park/pipe going to the gondola (gore or whiteface) but you wont watch me in the park more than 2 times on a pow day. i just lap the little whiteface chair all day for the cloudsplitter glades. best trail ever. and bumps... i LOVE THEM!!

I am definitely a park rat. I've been hiking park on many a powder day. I know that might be hard for most people to understand, but its true.

i dont really care when im called that, cause i know i can ski better than the people who typically say it negatively, since they're shredding the gnar 2 inches, lol.
