(forgot to say that i m a beginner in skiing ...i was practicing snowblade for 4 years now... and I can get the MAD_TRIX with a Tyrolia binding for 629$can(around 400 us i ll say and it s not used)... just a little update hehe.

**sorry for my sucky english :-/

Im 178 cm too and I have scratch fs 174 and I wouldn't get shorter ski. I don't go big adn I'm light.

I would get FS, thats because im a really big fan of Rossi. But, if not those then get the mad trix

if your a beginner, you might like a softer flex, so probably go for the scratch... for a park only ski, its one of the best... if you want all mountain performance too, i'd get the mad trix though.

id say scratch for legnth but the mad trix hold up and are a better all around ski

madtrix is way to short for you. scratch all the way.

..damn , Mad and FS look pretty close too each other :-/.

But i ve heard on this board that some ppl have durability problem with the Scratch (stress crack , top sheetcracking and peeling at the edges , etc...)

Is it true or what :-/ ?? ...that s why i aws considering MAD_TRIX ...event if it s 163 ....so what should i do (damn newbie ....hehe)

ThX again guys for your help

mad trix is way more durable, but dude, 163 is just too short. i'm 5'11' (only one inch taller than you) and i'm on madtrix 181's. I guess if its for park only, it wouldn't be as bad, and shorter probably will feel better to you, as you are a beginner, but consider this... you're gonna outgrow it. your skills are gonna outgrow a 163 real quick.

...and considering i m a beginner (and ex-skiboarder) ...do you guys think i ll see a big difference between those 2 ski (M-Trix and FS)??

PS: i weight around 165 lbs...so around 72

You are 5'10'. You don't want to ride a 163 it's too short. Get something bigger. The scratch FS is a super nice pipe/park ski. Don't know much about the Nordica, but the mad trix is too short.

skies aren't based off your height anymore its more your waight and height comblined i am 5'9' 155 and ride 169 and they are perfect go talk to a shop that know about twins and size ratio
