Basically if you're going to head up from the front range and ski you might as well go the extra time and just go to A basin/loveland/breck etc. The big problem is there isnt quite enough snow right on the front range just outside Denver to support anything bigger. Eldora has done a decent job with their park and they are only about 20-30 minutes from Boulder. COS needs a park like Echo that is up near woodland park, its just cold enough to keep the snow for the main part of winter and is only a 20-25 minute drive from downtown.
