Park/ Jib ski guidance

Hey all, finally convinced myself that this year is the year I'm going to commit a large portion of my season away from backcountry and more towards park skiing. I'm very short on knowledge when it comes to park skiing so I was curious what length/flex pattern/ width I should be going for. Traditionally I like real stiff skis that are 184 length as a sweet spot. That being said I want to learn how to butter/jib a lot better and tighten up my rail game...I'm 5'9, 160 if that helps but seriously would take any and all recommendations! Thanks! (Also not looking for top of the line... a ski that can be found for pretty cheap used or something)

Hey Tyler,

I think you should really checkout our Vandals. They took 1st overall in the category of Freestyle in this years Freeskier magazine's test. The category was based on near symmetrical skis that excel in and out of the park. Considering you are looking to up your rail game, and prefer a longer ski I would suggest going wit the 179cm length. Splits the difference between easy to spin and handling deeper snow outside the park. Its stiffer underfoot to offer grip, and has hinge points in the tip and tail to help with buttering. Head over to 4frnt.com if you want to get some more info from our customer service team!

Awesome, thanks for the replies! A couple buddies of mine are on vandals and recommended them... hard ski to find used because nobody wants to give theirs up!

You don’t want 172s that’s so insanely short for your height let alone someone that’s 5’11”

Id sell a pair of 179 vandals but they have edge cracks.

They're on the shorter side for my height but I wouldn't say insanely/too short. What height would you recommend? Interested to hear opinions on shorter vs "correct size" skis?
